I would say the Hunter have become the hunted (well if we turn them over anyway). The rest of the country who don't know who Assem is will just go "WTF?!?"
For people comparing us with Boro, it's different. They've been out of the limelight for a good few years whereas we've now played at the Etihad 3 years on the trot. It's hardly exciting or new is it? Whereas for Lokeren there was a massive scramble for tickets and we couldve sold 5,500 no problem.
The rules state 15% so that would be 8,250. We are a bigger club than Middlesbrough according to some of our fans, so we should be able to take 2,000 less than they took for a longer distance, shouldn't we?
Being at this stage of the competition is new. No doubt if could be like the FA Cup where there was a pathetic all small demand for tickets, usual stuff about Hull being a poor city (Middlesbrough such a rich, salubrious area) but tens of thousands had the money available for two Wembley trips. And demonstrated the small town attitude of the city by wanting extra tickets for wives and girlfriends to have a day out, wanting the same seat for the final as the semi-final, saying season ticket holders should have 2 tickets presumably thinking Wembleynshould increase its allocation by about 10,000 for our fans. Other clubs get good away followings for games against clubs they play every season even when on TV. For some reason we don't have the numbers of fanatical fans some others have and which ?I thought we would have when good times finally arrived and we started rubbing shoulders with thei big boys.
A premier league treble for city (hull) 0-0 until the last 5 mins,we score. 11 behind the ball, into the semi's To play...... Everton !!!!! Or middlesbough An all Yorkshire tie ????
Ive said it before, I think Hull folk in general - I dont even mean football fans here - are very apathetic. Its really hard to impress someone from Hull, the attitude is often 'meh, what's so good about that?' And I dont mean this as a criticism at all, its good to not get caught up in mass hysteria about stuff the way other citizens seem to.
In two cup games against premier league opposition we would have earned as many points as Villa have in 10 games and been off the foot of the table on goal difference.
Castro its a very apathetic City When we got to the FA cup final i had the chance of 3 extra tickets I asked half a dozen people if they where interested Only one took me up on the offer and that was only because i physically went and got it cause he didnt want to go and queue. The rest just said nah !! i cant be arsed or i aint interested. If youd have told me that when we where in the lower leagues id have never believed it I find it has frustrating as you do but it will never change
Totally. My brother was once named runner-up in supporter of the year after not missing a single game all season, including pre season friendlies and one of them was away to some ****e team in Scotland!! (think it was Clyde or something). He used to use all his annual leave goingn to away midweek fixtures, booking the days off as soon as the fixtures were announced. But when we got to the Cup Final? "Nah, cant be bothered. I'll watch it on telly". Amazing. And people will take the piss but I honestly blame Allam, never have so many felt so disengaged with the club. The idea of myself missing 1 home game a season used to be unfathomable, whereas now I havent been to a single home game all last season or this.
