QPR battle MK and restless natives for spirited victory – report
Monday, 26th Oct 2015 00:04 by Clive Whittingham
QPR were able to overcome a limited MK Dons team, and barracking from their own supporters, and record a comfortable 3-0 win at Loftus Road on Saturday.

In some ways it was apt for the 1975/76 team to have their reunion at Loftus Road on Saturday for the visit of MK Dons.

They know as well as anybody that the QPR fans regularly turn on their own players – the late Mick leach used to get pelters from this crowd even when Rangers were sweeping all before them and running Liverpool close for the league title.

Good reports...it is so sad that both feel the need to comment on the behaviour of our fans.

Hope those who doubt CR read these reports especially Antiis on Henry, JET and Toszer and perhaps it will give you a better understanding of what is going on...it did me.

    Thanks 999s for posting

No one on here has commented on the 75-76 team appearance - were they in good nick?

I suspect Clive is too young to have seen that team. My memory may be playing tricks on me, but I don't remember Mick Leach getting excessive stick from 72 onwards, certainly not large sections of the crowd booing him - am I wrong (Beth, Nines, Col, Terry, Strolls, Hoops Eternal, DT etc etc ...wow a lot of us were lucky enough to have seen that team at their best)? For reasons that escape me I know he wasn't the most popular player but he wasn't despised in the way some more recent R's have been, was he?

A very fine and incisive read. I would say 'shame' on those fans who cost us the home advantage (as Clive puts it) but I know they are pig ignorant imbeciles for whom such sentiment simply passess them by as they wallow in their own mental excrement.

I can remember a big, ginger haired bloke who used to stand up and yell at Micky Leach from behind where my family sat in the SA Rd stand: "You're f*cking sh*t, Leach!" and more. Every home game! I never could understand what was wrong with the guy, but then I'm not a psychiatrist.

Think Clive was at a different game to me.

Quick and obvious part. Toszer's corners have generally been **** all week (including Wednesday... on Tuesday. First decent corner we took came from Chery. After Toszer had been moved off for duffing it in to first man yet again. Phillips also in first half did ok from a corner.

Find it hard to believe Clive missed this so actually think he is outright lying to fit his own agenda.

He also ignores the fact. After 4 full half's of football without scoring or looking like we'd score Green pulled off an outstanding save. One of if not the most pivotal par of the match was ignored. Then out of nothing JET pulled us out of a hole (a player who know's he's wanted and respected here after reaction to him being subbed off mid-week mind)

Clive's tactical genius insight is also a bit confusing. He says MK like to play out from the back so should be combating by high pressing. So i'm confused how a holding midfielder can effectively do high pressing.

What actually happened was occasionally. Henry charged forward at the centre backs, who then either passed it to the keeper who took his time before going short or long. Or they passed the ball into the space he just vacated as another game literally passed him by

Does Clive not think that Luongo has more of an engine and could play in that same role or slightly further forward but still behind Fer and we'd have a better team?

That's why people are pissed off. Because Ramsey is selecting the wrong players and often the wrong formation. And its cost us crucial points (this season and last)

Be interesting to see how he deals with JET when Austin's fit. 4-4-2 with JET in a free role makes a lot of sense. Although problem that we don't really have a left winger.

No fan wants Rangers to do badly. He should know that. He should instead think what they actually mean.

As someone who fits in to the 'moaners' ; of the argument. I won't him to drop Henry. Then play 2 out of Luongo, Sandro and Faurlin there, with Doughty and Toszer ahead in pecking order after that.

I want manager, to respond to the game and make decisions accordingly, to not play hoof ball football because another team realises they only need to pressure our deep midfielders like Henry who don't want the ball anyway so we hoof it long to Chery or Luongo up against a centre back.

This is a crucial season, as people love to bang on about, this ain't an easy league to get out of. So while you've got a gift of a number of players too good for this league you need to capitalise on it.

Ramsey hasn't done enough there and he also must take responsibility as well which Clive ignores to suit his own agenda. He deemed Furlong good enough to start against Sanchez ahead of Copa America winning Isla but he's now not even good enough for our bench behind Perch and now in League one (there really is a much longer list I could give... Zarate scored at the weekend didn't he?)

Or the disrespect he showed the fans with SWP at City. Now i've heard the statement Henry did well (Clive says for first 50 mins- a time when we were pretty ****e) but never any actual incidents of what he did. But considering the atmosphere, did CR really help, himself, the club the players by selecting Henry? Had he really done enough on past performances or in that match to justify a place? Could it not have been more sensible to play Faurlin, Fer or even Doughty instead?

Ramsey needs to take responsibility. Starting Henry was like he was starting an argument

Would be interesting to take a poll on if you would sack Ramsey now, give him until christmas or to the end of the season.
Personally i would give him to the end of the season as i am quite intriged with seeing his gelled team.

I would stick with him too...no quick fix avaiable and would we want one, after the last time we just bounced back.
Get the team to consolidate, see who is going, who is staying....end of season is the time to consider

It really is the ultimate irony for a man making a career out of regularly pillorying QPR in his (usually excellent) reports to come out with this one-sided nonsense that turns on the long-suffering Loftus Road fans as the villain of the piece. Like many who have commented about the game on this board he appears to have forgotten everything that happened for the first awful 70 minutes against one of the poorest sides to visit HQ in many years and the preceding lack-lustre performances against Wednesday and Birmingham. Intelligent supporters look at the trends rather than the emotional snapshots that surround goals and victories and anyone with half a brain (including Charlie Austin) can see that highly dubious decisions regarding tactics and team selection have provided ineffectual and mind-numbing football. Give us entertainment and effort and the Loftus Road crowd will provide the best support in the land but please don't expect the kind of lobotomised fans you get at other clubs.

Wasn't at the game on Saturday [at number three son's graduation ceremony] so can't comment on the treatment either Ramsey or the players received from the fans. But I've noticed in Clive's last few reports he seems to support or make excuses for Ramsey no matter what. There are some members of our support that clearly want Ramsey to fail, thus be sacked, but I would say only a small minority.
Personally I would give Ramsey to the end of the season at least, which I'm sure is what will happen anyway unless the bottom really drops out of our season. I have more than a little sympathy for Ramsey as he ended up keeping hold of Austin, Fer and Phillips when he was safe to assume that all three would be gone in the window. Not only would that have thrown his plans into disarray but the fans expectations went through the roof as a result.

Agree with you on Ramsey. Also as you have said, if we're in the relegation slots towards the end of the season, I'd think about removing him in view of getting someone to keep us in this division. We need some continuity. The manager merry go round didn't help under Tango and Cash, did it.

Thought both these were great articles. Clive''s best ever for me as I agreed about 99% for the first time. I have always believed that as Support you are the 12th man for your team. I'm really saddend that much of ours has apparently become 12th man for the opposition. You idiots should know what you are doing. As someone commented under Clive''s piece, you got to wonder really why Ramsey is getting this treatment.

Ferdinand and Ramsey seem to me to be doing a really good job, as these writers portray they have achieved a lot, Jet for one, which gets little aclaim. The often misunderstood negatives get blown out of proportion the wrong negative way.

The treatment of Henry is an absolute disgrace and those who are doing it should be ashamed of themselves!

Not despised Stan, and almost tempted to reopen that thread where you found those glorious clips, but it did let's say grate. He was just way too nice to make the big deal of it.
I was like you oblivious to it and only found out when he said it himself, I think it was as a retort to me paying way too much homage for his liking.

Getting on Henry's back isn't helping anyone and it went too far on Saturday but, really, does he need to keep picking him?
