Gerry Byrne played on with a broken collarbone. Bert Trautman with a broken neck. Mind you, he was an SS paratrooper and they didn't have substitutes in those days.

Its fairly obvious we cannot rely on Sturridge - we all knew that before we signed him that he was dodgy but also had a lot of potential.

He is now a quality striker who we can get a run of 5-10 games once or twice a season.

We wouldn't need to rely on Sturridge if we spent £32.5m this summer on a good striker who wasn't injury prone as well.

Three times as much as Studge, but just as injured. Brod can't blame the committee for that one.

I thought Benteke was wasted money.

    I guess we'll see.

I think Benteke will prove to be a solid signing.........the fact he's missed a couple of games doesn't mean he's injury prone IMO

Sacrilege! Your Liverpool fandom has been revoked. King Kenny and Molby will be around shortly to grab you and throw you in the dungeon. (Goodison park)

  11. Carra is old school and a lot of the modern play players could learn a thing or two from him. You only stay down if you're hurt. His dad gave him a bollocking for pretending to be injured when he was a kid and rightly so, he didn't do it again.

PS...I'll listen to Carra before I listen to a hell of a lot of others, including everyone on here <ok>

With the best will in the world, looking to build a team for the future, I can't see us signing a 29 year old striker.

How old is Leondowski? Not that it's going to happen, but I'd build a ****ing attack around him. I'd take Luis back at 29 too!

Only just turned 27. Different story to Vardy though as Lewandowski and Suarez wouldn't be risks <ok>
Same with Messi [28] and Ronaldo [30]. <laugh>

He was only 27 not so long ago I think, if he keeps up his ridiculous form then he would be worth a world record fee I would have thought - sadly not for us :(
