I had a good idea ref would force the game - but more poor play by keeper & ColiccinI - some debatable decisions for both sides - all in all fair ref imo. - 3pts
No he didn't! Not a single one of his three fouls was bad enough to warrant a yellow card. Even added up they weren't! This annoys the hell out of me because our fans appear to have him labelled as "every fouls a yellow" which is one of the reasons others do! His fouls added together weren't half as bad as Tiotes first foul which didn't bring a yellow
Gotta disagree Marcus. Whilst the last tackle that got the card may have not been worthy of a yellow, it would have been because of several infringements and several verbal warnings, just like Tiote's was. Tiote made a bad tackle, got a warning and within 2 minutes made another. That got him the yellow. Tbh I don't recall the circumstances of ours, but I'm betting it was because of multiple infringements.
Who didn't? Tiote? I thought he got the first one. We were all arguing in the pub about when Catts would get the first yellow card (me defending him) and then it looked like Tiote got carded. Well confused now!
No Sunderland player was booked. They got yellows for Tiote & Colback with the red for Coloccini (Spelling?)
Very good tackle. Ball first and only momentum took him into the player! Even the mags coach said so!
Colback should have known that if he didn't tackle hard against Catts he'd get hurt. School yard error.
thought I might as well stick this on here - it is great news imo that Sam is interacting with the development team. might see a few more attempting the step up soon. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/10/2...ands-youngsters-have-been-impressed-b/page/1/ Lee Cattermole has informed Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday that the young players at the club have been delighted with Sam Allarydce's appointment. Allardyce took over at Sunderland two weeks' ago, and he has already made a big impact at the club, guiding them to derby success against Newcastle United at the weekend. It is not just with the first-team that he has made changes, though, and Cattermole says that the development squad are loving having a manager who makes them feel valued. "He's talking to everybody, including the young players," Cattermole said. "The young players are saying to us how nice it is to have a manager who interacts with them on the training ground as well. View image | gettyimages.com "He's come here and he's brought a lot of stats for us and is telling us areas of the pitch where we need to improve. He's on top and things and he's been very impressive." Sunderland have been guilty of under-using their young players in recent years, with few talents able to break through at the Wearsiders. Although Duncan Watmore has been handed fleeting chances in the first-team, there haven't been many others who have made the step up. Sunderland clearly have a talented group of prospects to pick from, as their development side currently sits at the top of the Premier League's under-21 table. And they will be hoping that their good form finally earns senior recognition now that Allardyce is at the helm at the Stadium of Light.
Time and again we keep hearing about Sam and his stats! Just goes to show this bollocks about him just being a one dimensional long-ball manager is just that! Bollocks!
I don't think he's a one dimensional long-ball manager, but the way he manages and the clubs in the positions they're in when he takes over means it's often a boring football. After all he's goes back to basics with poor squads and starts from scratch, it's never going to be pretty. I'm warming to him but I'm not going to kid myself and believe he's going to bring us thrilling football because he's not. It's going to be crap but effective. He'll see us right and leave us better off but it's not going to be pretty.
