Don,t get me wrong. Absolutely made up that we won.

Now time for reality to set in and Big Sam to think about things

    Pants
Made a couple of vital saves but shaky as

    Middle back 2
We still need O'Shea badly till we January, those 2 together are frightening, no idea how to work as a pair

    Full backs
Both did ok without setting the world alight, massive space behind whenever they push on

    Wingers
Lens looked out of sorts, Johnson did ok, wanted to see them swap wings For a while

    Midfield
Catts and M,Vila looked shaky and slow, get found out by better sides

    Up FRont
Fletch still thinks he,s Pele, instead of playing percentages some of time
Defoe looks like bit part only
    Toivonen
Was having a mare till he got injured

Something to build a bit of confidence on but we got lucky tbh with at least sending off, seen those types go either way

    6-0 and FTM

I would agree with most of that Robo, could not believe how bad Toivenen was playing !! Thank god the lad got injured. But yes my feeling at the final whistle was that result was tantamount to day light robbery, just glad we have the points in the bag. But Big Sam does have a lot to address.

Sam needs to think about Southampton away on March 5th. If we want to be sure about 7 in a row, Ellis may realise this is the game two before Newcastle away !

First win, 3 priceless points and a confidence booster. I`ll take that.

The first 40 minutes we were shocking. A good team would have torn us apart.

What a good job we weren`t playing one. :1980_boogie_down:

Whilst we should enjoy the moment, we need to build on this. Its just a first step.

Jeez, we just won 3-0 against the scum, lighten up and enjoy the moment.
Anyway, I thought Pants was back to his best, Mvilla was outstanding and deserved the motm, AJ was great and someone we've missed recently and Defoe changed the game when he came on.

Definitely very happy to smash and grab the win, but far from excited about our performance up to the big moment and the season as a whole. If we can tread water and have 15 points by 31 Dec and get a couple of big signings, then there's real hope for the back half of the season. At the moment, it's hard to say anything other than that we don't look like we belong in this league. All I have is hope, but it's not really based on anything rational at present. Sorry to be a bit of a downer, I really do hope this win sparks some life into us.

I think we all know there is a lot of work to do, nobody more than Big Sam, but what a step forward today, the whole team were tight and nervous you could feel it, but Vila Pants Cats and yes YK were outstanding. The seeds of recovery are there but it is going to be one hell of a job to survive this start, but in the last three games we have taken four points and no one can say we have not deserved four, even if we got them in the wrong games, who cares .<cheers>
