    Hi All,

I was on the train this morning from Fratton to Chichester and on the opposite station at Havant I noticed a couple of guys all dressed up in the Chelsea training kit.

One of the guys was obviously a physio/coach but the younger guy looked like this guy - http://www.chelseafc.com/page/TheReservesProfiles/0,,10268~900400,00.html

Now I am not trying to start meaningless rumours - but after SC interview in the Snooze last week regarding a nice Pompey/Chelsea relationship for loans - could I have spotted a loan signing?

21 years old, combative midfielder with a great long range shot.

Now there is the other option that he was stood on the west bound station to go about another 20 minutes down the road, so I will leave this rumour at that - but when you see a couple of Chelsea staff then you have to wonder?!

At least you put a lot of effort into starting a rumour thread.
All we seem to get at the moment is; 'I read in the mirror.....'
Football is good at keeping us guessing, but I suppose its helped get us this far in the close season.

HR - I never believe the press - unless it is posted on the OS, BBC (to an extent) and SkySports (Again, to an extent) - then I wont believe anything until I have seen it with my own eyes - hence the starting of this thread :)

I think something is definitely going to happen in the next few weeks, would much prefer the three players mentioned in this article though,

    http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/p...rill_must_wait_for_chelsea_loan_ace_1_2879279

Also Josh McMcEachran if they are willing to let him leave on loan. As 'the news' article say's we are going to have to wait for Villas-Boas to assess his squad, so could be after the season has started. With SC and the team being away in America i doubt Clifford would have been down to pompey today.

I feel for the SFC fans when the press has just been rehashing and manipulating the same article for the last year!

If Oxo was to go, then he would have gone by now.

Can I just confirm that the guy that I saw MIGHT NOT have been Conor Clifford........but when searching the Chelsea reserve team photo this is the guy that most looked like the guy I saw this morning.

They will lose Oxo for sure, but it will not happen until negotiations start hotting up towards the end of August <ok>

We should see one of the Chelsea youngsters coming our way. Bertrand would be good.

Bertrand or Van Aanholt at left back is a wee bit more appealing than dear old Hermann starting every match. As much as I love him for his sparkling character and 110% commitment, can he last 90 minutes of non stop action ?

He would be great to have on the bench as defensive cover for left back or centre half.

Gael Kakuta is the one to sign, to my mind. Plays left wing (I believe) and scores goals.

Good shout re. Hermann Woopert. You just know opposing managers are going to target our right side if HH is on the teamsheet.

He'll be good cover all across the back, but as for starting in a regular slot, I'd be very concerned.

I'm more inclined to believe it coming fro you mike, rather than from a tabloid newspaper. <ok>

Just as long as you haven't been hacking into Abramovic's phone! <yikes>

    I feel honoured!

It could have just been two Chelsea staff on a jolly out to the seaside for all I know - but they stuck out like a sore thumb at Havant station this morning in all their training clobber - cant understand why a coach would have been with him though?!

I think you are absolutely correct, Oxo is likely to leave - probably to Arsenal.
However, he is playing a dangerous game with Cortese (CE) by putting his name to articles in the Sun. He is under contract until 2013 and he will not go anywhere until someone comes up with the money Cortese wants. Oxo would do well to remember that Saints do not need the money and by his talking to the Sun he has probably just pushed the price up - Cortese is not a man to be trifled with.
Good luck with the possibility of loans from Chelsea - they have some very good young players who would do well for Pompey

I agree with the above. Oxo had been a very naughty boy by talking to the press in the way he has.

As for Chelsea loans; I guess if we want a feeder club like Chelsea can't be at all bad. 3 reserves a year? Yes please.

Confirmation of my thoughts on Oxo - he has heavily fined by the club for making press satements without first clearing it with the club. He needs to learn quickly. Jason Puncheon chose to get difficult & is now training & playing with the 18 yr old squad.
He will not be going anywhere until Cortese gets his valuation of the player. He would happily let him stew with the kids for as long as it takes!
Again, good luck with the Chelsea connection - I am not personally a great fan of Chelsea & the thought of them being a feeder club for Pompey is great stuff!!
I,m sure they would love the analogy!
