If JET has to go off I'd rather have
    Fer
    Phillips
    or Chery (Aguero)

    lead the line

    before Polter

Would you have Polter on the pitch in place of any of the 3 above?
MAYBE the manager has got it right!

if you are judging that on his cameo v brum, Polter wasn;t getting any service because by the time he came on brum were putting the ball in the corner to waste time. Give Polter a full game and pretty sure the guy would deliver.

He was presumably scouted and has a reasonable record at the same level in Germany. He looked bloody awful at Birmingham but it was only ten minutes or so. At home to Rotherham he had half an hour or so I think and did well, winning a penalty. Scored in the league cup and led the line well enough.

Will probably be a mediocre Champ striker at best but we'll never know if he doesn't play. Phillips doesn't merit a place on the wing right now let alone up front. His form since the transfer window can best be described as Dale Winton-like in its aggression.

Ramsey's excuse for taking JET off when he was playing well was that he had received a knock in training. For me, this made it all the more ridiculous not to have an experienced front man on the bench i.e. Polter. This would have been a valuable opportunity for the lad to prove himself because he's had precious few chances to do so to date.

I know Ramsey sees more of him in training but, during his limited time on the pitch that fans have seen, he has shown some promising touches. He may never be the Championship's best striker but he could prove to be a competent squad player if only he's given the chance.

Re Phillips, I didn't see it but the BBC commentators were praising Phillips s lot for some of his game Tuesday night. One of them was Mackie, so he probably had to!

Yes, for me, Phillips has been largely invisible and very disappointing so far this season but he showed up a lot more against Wednesday. I just wish he'd place his shots more, rather than try to burst the back of the net. Too many times this season he's thundered shots into the crowd when an accurate but softer shot would probably have gone in.

Let's hope he can at least maintain this level of performance.

He is German I would pick him without doubt he has the minerals
Maybe it's a off the pitch thing?
Looking at Tuesday we had enough on the pitch to score Fer can play up front no problem in fact I move class him as a forward wouldn't anyone on here ... He is not a midfielder IMO
Supporting front man IMO so he got the nod plus must have a good rapport with Chery ?
The anti CR thing is not good
Chery Phillips Fer looks a good front line to me
They didn't score but from the highlights they had efforts

DT, I like all of Chery, Phillips and Fer but I was at the match and Fer did nothing to suggest that he has any idea how to play as a No.9. Quite the opposite, in fact.

I saw on a screen Fer play the No 9 nearly a half, must have been when Austin got injured, and he didn't look comfortable, but he was also just back from injury and clearly not match fit. It's a bit strange though if he can't play there because he's scored very good No 9 type goals for Holland in the last WC and for us. Guess he's better able to do this when making runs from deeper positions.

Surely Polter should start and if nothing else, soften up the opposition for 45 then throw Jet in as he looks most at ease up there.

Warnock will know what to do....

Yes, you're right, Fer's a goal-scorer but, as you say, it's a very different game moving forward onto, or with, the ball versus having your back to the goal, like a No.9. Fer does have a tremendous leap and he made a couple of good flicks. He's also strong on the ball and can hold on to it. However, in the time available to him on Tuesday I thought he looked uncomfortable in that position. Given that we have Polter in the squad, it seems strange we don't give the fella a fair opportunity to impress in a match day situation, especially when you know that your starting forward (JET) is nursing an injury.

Ramsey must have been very unimpressed by what he's seen of Polter on the training ground.

To be fair I haven't a clue what's going on . Fer looks a supporting attacker to me . I have seen him a few times live in the past and he didn't have the work rate for a midfielder then
    So what is he?
Supports the attack for the Dutch
    And looks natural there

Harold brought him to replace Adel
I think . Who would QPR prefer ?

Fer every time for me as I don't think he's anywhere near as divisive amongst the squad. Also what's the point of having a player that can't get on the pitch as he won't train properly. It's not like it's only us that have criticized his non training. Great skills but poor attitude.

Fer isn’t an option at centre forward any more than Sandro is an option at centre back.

Its a completely different position. Playing with the back to goal with two physical championship centre backs smashing into him every time the ball gets launched long to him is very different to what he is used to, which is picking the ball up in pockets of space and instead being pressured by a midfielder.

Same goes for Chery (even more so) and Phillips again not a position for him. He cant even play let wing!!

Polter ahead of all of them. Remember Polter doing very well agsint Rotheram and laying on a one on one in his brief caemo. Give him another go.

With 14 goals he averaged a goal every 2 games in the same level of football in Germany last season. He deserves more of a chance

I like the German lad but you don't have to play a centre forward at all IMO ... Sandro has played at Centre back for Spurs I think Peter and I think he could easily The German lads record I don't think means anything ... The football is different
The clue is that it's is another country Mr Peter
I certainly know the German sides I have play against were very different
I agree let's see him but maybe things behind the scenes have lost him his place

The thing is Rodders is if Ramsey sees Polter in training and doesn't fancy him it does beg the question why did he buy him? I think Polter might have been a panic buy due to the Austin situation. However, as you say, until Polter is given half a chance we can't really judge.
