Disappointing attendance last night, almost 1,000 down on our previous lowest league attendance this season. Not a bad turn-out by Ipswich either, it's a nightmare trip for a night match. It puts the season average down to 17,058, which is the lowest it's been since we averaged 16,847 in League Two in the 2004/05 season. We still have a fair few Yorkshire derbies to come, so no doubt that average will increase, possibly even exceeding our average in our last promotion season, but it's still disappointingly low. Increasing the season ticket prices was an incredibly poor decision, it's cost us revenue, rather than generating it.
Thing is though, you don't have the business mind and CV that Dr Allam has so how dare you question his approach to his business.
You don't need fans there when you have fancy flashing lights generating an atmosphere! Canned cheering next.
Its a shame as its probably one of the only times in our history we have one of the best squads in the league and are genuinely expected to be competing for the title. It should be one of our most exciting seasons to date but silly pricing from an owner who actively alienates and insults his own supporters means we'll be playing in front of disappointingly low crowds all season.
I thought it was the other way round, we didn't make much noise until the third goal went in, though even that was short lived.
Three home games in eight days could be a little too many for cash punters, I am sure Birmingham on Saturday will see an improvement in the gate.
I didn't think "cash punters" were allowed these days. I understand it's all online/ticket machine if you aren't a pass holder. There are many potential customers who would like to make a last minute decision to go, but for these reasons don't.
Three home games plus Hull Fair out of 2 pay packets is certainly too big a chunk for a lot of people. Hard for people to justify it to their better halves even if they have plenty coming in, impossible for those on lower wages which so many in Hull are on.
Football is largely boring anyway and involves sitting in a stinking, damp stadium surrounded by borderline retards with body hygiene issues. Far better to watch the goals and highlights on tv and then post comments and opinions based on those and further derived from reading the opinions of those that you favour who bothered going, like 90% of us who participate in online forums such as this. Saves money of a season ticket and the time and effort of watching the full game. Bruce out. ESSEX GULL
Suppose it's a tough choice. Either give your money to a load of thieving ****s for some cheap thrills, crap atmosphere and **** food. Or you go to Hull Fair.
I don't think it helps that it now is so difficult to buy a ticket. I went into the ticket office on Monday to get tickets near us for the next 3 homes, only to be told I have to get them online more than a couple of days out. So frustrating, and they must be losing sales?!
I doubt many people go to a ticket office to buy a paper ticket anymore - those who do this should be charged more as an admin fee. Up there with going into a bank to pay bills in wasting time and energy. ESSEX GULL
It's a wonder the brilliant business minds, PR experts and awesome football managers we have in here don't club together and either buy City or a lower team like Utd and simply bathe in the money they make while enjoying top 6 success in the PL every year.
