Some of the snippets are stating how he wants to leave because he's unsettled (with no actual word from the player) and then you come across this one: http://www.eurosport.co.uk/football...te-role-at-sunderland_sto4958718/story.shtml? Which basically makes the Mirror look like the bunch of twats they are!! http://www.footballfancast.com/foot...-to-sign-sunderland-star?#jGVpVvCsVwHxuqD4.97 The line which states "It is also said that he is currently unhappy with life at the Stadium of Light" links to this page: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/bournemouth-ready-make-january-move-6669153 Typical Mirror bullshit!!
This shows the media bias against both premier NE teams - ably supported by very odd referree devisions over quite a long period - No soft winge this last but - I used to referee at local level - no excuses for the number of very odd calls made - imo. Who's Sundays ref - lets us know what to expect - can't think of many favourable (fair ?) ones - suggestions ?
Agreed, but unlikely IMO due to his £70k a week wages which he will want to hold on to So then you look down the route of loans with a percentage of his wages getting paid. Would Bournemouth stump up any more than £30k per week? Doubt it. So that would leave us with circa £50k a week in wages on a player we paid £6m for (swap with Altidore who we paid £6m for). A lot of supposition there but we might as well keep hold of him IMO
Is he on £70k a week? That's mental. My logic was that it's January and you'd probably get 2-3m more than you'll get in the summer for him. Maybe he'd move to AFCB with a bonus in mind, of a few quid if he helped keep them up, or a relegation release clause of Zip, if they went down. Dwight Gayle, who I think is a similar player, would probably cost less mind.
Surely it's not in our best interests to send any of our players to a relegation rival...well hang on, I could probably think of a couple, but not Defoe.
Vehemently! His wage won't be near 80k even if he reaches all clauses in his contract. According to the club. But obviously the Mirror know better
All a load of bollocks FFS. He's only said what i would expect any pro to say, and that he's not happy to sit on the bench. Of course he's not happy, which ambitious pro would be? ****e lazy journalism at it's worst.
Defoe was bought to score goals - he has missed a few good chances (esp against Spurs) - agree he should be given a starting central striker role but with Whatmore or/and Borini alongside not a proven flop aka Fletcher - bench - we need speed and new blood in attack . But if BFA does'nt fancy him - sell on we only served as a stepping stone to premiership for him -I'm not sure if he is a Sunderland player
