Nothing like it. I never saw Bellamy not put the effort in. He was a pure **** of course and nothing but hassle, but once he got on the pitch he delivered. He also kept himself in great nick at all times - particularly when you consider his knee issues.

Souness was just archaic, and came in with an agenda. His arrogance and ego could not handle a Bellamy. Plus Bellamy was starting to lose his way a little with his antics and behaviour away from football.

Its true but I lost all respect when he feigned that injury just because he mistakenly thought he was being offered to other clubs as a makeweight in a transfer and might have to play wide in a front 3. That was a bit sickening. Not amused by that and it was just disrespectful to the club as a whole. Refused to apologise too. He tried to lie his way out of it, and played "I'd play anywhere for this club, even in goal" "Leave this football club, never, it means too much to me" and all that bollocks.

I don't like players who can't front up. Hated Bellamy. I hear this stuff about his help in Africa - great - he is still a little twat.

I think his days were probably numbered no matter what as none of the players seemed to like him. Great player for us though and Souness did use him wrong. Souness was clueless. Still better than Fat Sam mind. One of the reasons I'd like Vardy and previously Shane Long is they are similar to Bellamy. Those type of players go down very well here. They are never the greatest consistent goalscorers but they don't half get the crowd going.
