I worked there for a year with Big Sam and Kevin Keegan, and it's a magnificent club with great supporters, but at the moment I don't think I'll be joining them,' he added. 'To be a head coach or manager is my No 1 target. If that doesn't happen in the coming months I'll have to drop back to being a No 2 or coach, and I've got no problems with that.' what a load of bollocks, if he signs Nolan and he comes up trumps I would imagine 99% of Sunderland fans would appreciate him, not love him, not be their fav player etc. but appreciate what he does for the team.
Anybody who watched Nolan last season should be forming their opinion of him on his game, nothing to do with history, the guy is a snail with an appetite for red-mist descending and that's nothing but a liability, he's got nothing left to offer as a player at this level, if Sam signs him that's a clear sign of what he thinks of your current players.
Id find it very difficult to support nolan at safc. Cant forget his past easily and i agree with Terry, he offers very little now. Feel similarly about Big Sam tbh! Think he could do really well and turn my thoughts around but i will never like him. I will start to lose passion for the club if he is here long i think.
Kevin Philips? He's did a grand Job at Leicester and an assistant's role in this league would represent natural progression in his coaching career.
