New FIFA is quite good. Like the additional training but they've added on so you can increase player development yourself.

I haven't bought a fifa title in over a decade. They're EA Sports and don't want to have install all the EA origin associated malware onto my pc just to play the game.

Actually. Origin software really does scan through hardware, software and log files and reports them back to EA. I don't know about consoles, but on PCs this is absolutely true.

You could say this is to get performance data but perhaps most worrying is it seems to also report back to EA servers information from tax preparation software on the host PC such as Turbo Tax. Why it does this is probably not for any deliberately evil means but to determine demographics of users. Still. I wouldn't want EA having access to my tax records. The fact it is doing this clandestinely is even worse.

Origin also installs software that can brick certain rewritable optical drives...or at least it used to. A lot of older games from EA like the ones they sometimes give away free come patched with software that monitors what gets burnt on your optical drives. This software (presumably unintentionaly) sometimes ends up bricking components by doing something to do the firmware.

Google it if you like. Lots of people out there have run studies on everything Origin does once you install it on your PC. EA has also been voted worst company in America several times.

If you've already got Origin on your PC probably too late because it's hard to completely remove. If you don't have origin I would recommend not buying anything EA because it requires you install their malware.

I don't think I said what's app is evil... Just that I would never install it due to its crazy permissions request. It wants permissions to things it has no right being granted access. I said it was ludicrous looked like Facebook. (and someone pointed out to me it is owned by facebook).

People make fun of RHC for giving away too much personal information and then install what's app which sends all your data to Facebook. A company whose founders publicly stated that people are idiots for trusting him with their data years ago.

Don't have a console. Don't want a console. Games are too expensive on consoles for one thing.

    I have and prefer a PC. <ok>

You can... And I have. I tend to do more strategy games these days though.

Football Manager instead of FIFA for example.

Downloaded champ manager 16 on phone few weeks ago, was a freebie. Was ok, not the same using it as something to kill a bit of time every 10 mins on phone than actually taking it serious for a couple hours at a time setting up formations etc.

Or if you've got an Xbox One controller, you can just plug it into the PC with a micro-USB.

On the Xbox One you can get an app called 'EA Access'.

Absolutely brilliant. £20 per year and you have the EA vault of games to play whenever you want, once a game is added it will stay in the vault forever. So for example for my Xbox One I have, Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline, Titanfall, Fifa 15, Need for Speed Rivals, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warwafe, Madden, NBA, UFC, etc etc. loads of sport games. You also get trials to games 5 days before release to see if you want to buy them on release day.

Not forgetting Dragon Age: Inquisition. Which is awesome if you like RPG

A service that for me has been an excellent investment. <ok>
