Sloppy defensive play leads to a flappy concession from Friedel, as the Orlando Pirate's right-back fires one in.
Defence was static and the attempt at a save could've been better, frankly.

FREEdels a top keeper, who will solve all of Gomes related problems from last year

Yeah, and we'll sign Aguero & Rossi too

There's a reason he was a free signing you know

    he's not good enough

Looking shambolic at the back at the moment, as the Pirates create another chance.
Headed wide this time, from a fairly difficult attempted header.

    Saved by the linesman flag

    this is getting embarrassing

Pirates have a goal chalked off for offside, as their right-back runs unchallenged to nearly the edge of our box, before putting in a striker.
Friedel saves the shot, but is only able to block it into the path of an onrushing Pirate, who puts it into the net.

City probably wouldn't have sold us Given though and he's had a couple of dodgy injuries over the last few seasons.
Time will tell which transfer was better, I guess.

I know that this is only a friendly and that it's early on in the pre-season schedule, with a weakened team, but it's a little depressing.
Take off Naughton and Rose, stick on Kranjcar and Walker, with Bale at left-back, Modric on the left and van der Vaart in the middle, with the other Croatian up behind Defoe.
    Make things interesting.

Like someone said before, they're probably too arrogant to consider us as rivals anymore. Probably more focused on the goons.

We're really struggling to regain possession, as nobody's closing down particularly well and Corluka has replaced Palacios at half-time, though the Honduran wasn't doing much anyway.

Really well crafted chance between Keane and Kranjcar, with the Croatian's chip cleared when nearly on the line.

Keane should have played the bll earlier, Krankie should've put conviction into the shot, not this tippy tappy bullshit trying to loft it over him.

At this rate, 2 points from 8 games will be a bonus come the start of the season.
