That passage of play when the Aussies were down to 13 was the best rugby of the tournament. Simply immense defending and firmly placed a marker down. Still think All Blacks will win it though

It certainly was! Not so sure about the All Blacks though. They might be favourites but they've bottled it before.

What do you prefer league or union?

League for me. Even though i have a mate who was once captain of wales.

I watched leeds v st helens last week. Knocked spots of any union game i have seen for a while.

Started off in league as a kid and then moved to union as I moved away from a league playing area/country. Union is good but the forward work doesn't interest me all that much so I'd say league. Love watching both but I found union frustrating and slow to play at times.

Best form to play but I find it dull as **** to watch... 7's.

No brainer for me..Union every time.
As for the world cup..The way the Australians battled when they had two players short was fantastic, and they are now my adopted team that I will be supporting for the rest of the tournament.

Ireland bossed the French and now have a great chance of making the semis.

I too hope Ireland make the semis but Argentina will be very very tough and often an unexpected team makes it to the semis. I hope it is not France as they are so so stodgy. They might have a 20 minute period next week that wins them the game and then everything will look so rosy in their garden again. I want NZ t smash France to smithereens next weekend so that the French are forced into a total rethink on how to play rugby.

The French were a massive embarrassment today!

Bizarrely, I can still see them taking the All Blacks to the wire.

Lets hope not, given the stodge they have provided season upon season. It seems that French flair is something of a myth..

I didn't say I would be happy with it, just that I can see them doing it.

Didn't want to disagree with you because I feel it will be a mighty close game but I would like NZ to stuff the stodge. #

I didn't say I would be happy about them making the semis, just that they stand a good chance..I'm not really fussed either way to be honest.

Couldn't agree more, I love Rugby League and like Union as a kid but over time Union has irritated me with the tennis match styles, penalty kicks etc.. Too slow for me. NRL Grand final this year was immense! Best Grand Final I've seen In 20 years!

Top match that Aussie even if it took twenty years of waiting <laugh>
Ps. Do you watch the NPC. Hard grafters unlike the Super 15 show ponies!

<laugh> I know mate but good things come to those who wait! Haven't seen much of the NPC this season, My Cousin played with Matt Todd so I'm a Cantebury fan! Plus I have a soft spot for the South Island! Travelled through it in the early 2000's Beautiful country and culture!

    French players reportedly "sack" coach
The French rugby team has reportedly launched a mutiny against coach Philippe Saint-Andre, effectively sacking him on the eve of their Rugby World Cup quarter-final with New Zealand.

French media outlet L'obs Sport reported the French side have "discreetly dismissed" Saint-Andre and are coaching themselves ahead of Saturday's match with the All Blacks at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

If reports are true, it would be the second Rugby World Cup in succession the French have overthrown their coach after Marc Lievremont was effectively ousted by his players following their pool match loss to Tonga.

The French went on to make the final, losing 8-7 to the All Blacks in New Zealand.

The L'obs Sport report claimed: "The players view (Saint-Andre) as a good guy, as a former great player but not as a leader of men. Some go for the match against the All Blacks with lead feet, already beaten."
