12 months notice seems very civilised, wonder if it was by mutual agreement or a non-renewal of contract by one party. Maybe if they changed his title to chief scout then DoF will not be a puzzle.
He's had enough by all accounts. He handed in his notice. I doubt he'd be happy to take on a smaller role.
I think it's more like Big Sam told Ellis he was in charge and won't work with a DOF. He openly admits he doesn't see the need for that role in football.
Spelling checked - my spellchecker said "close enough we know what you mean" I heard that too mind but it was COngerton himself who put his notice in according to the press release so he wasn't sacked. Don;t personally think he did a bad job overall - a few donkeys but a few masterstrokes (M'Vila, Toivonen and Lens for definite!) along with getting rid of Altidore as a swap for Defoe!
See I see your point but I'm not sure I agree - he obviously still has some contacts to have been able to pull the likes of the players I mentioned above out of the bag - he might still be of some use in recommending players or contacting agents he knows on SA's request
Gives SA a few months to get his scouting staff sorted out, in place and working before Cogner leaves. In the mean time, he can continue to help Sam get information of players etc.
I agree he did pretty well this summer. He was unlucky as well - it would have been an even better summer if Fer and Rombaerts (?) had signed. To be fair, he got both of them as far as the AoL, before things went tits up. No way could he have known that in advance.
No argument from me (for a change ). Of course there have been failures, nobody is going to get 100% right but I`m not convinced the likes of Bridcutt et al would even be on his radar. I still think there`s a place for him here (contacts etc) unless of course he`s set on Germany anyway.
There's every way he could have known about Fer in advance, he's failed a medical at Everton in the past. There see, you don't know all the facts, other people sometimes know better than you. Easy isn't it?
I had a cold last week, but I'm alright now I might have another one next week, but I don't know . . . . I know in advance that I could get one during the forthcoming winter period, but there's absolutely no way of knowing that, or the severity of it if it happens, with any certainty until it happens I also broke a couple of ribs playing football a few months ago, but they have been okay for ages . . . . this could happen again in the future, but I don't expect it to That doesn't mean that it will or it won't . . . . I just don't know
