I really didn't understand this thread, so I had to read it thrice. Today, you can call me mad, but I really like Kauto Stone on his seasonal reappearance for the Pauling yard. He has dropped to a lovely mark, and in some races over the past two seasons he has looked as if he retains plenty of ability. He has just been overfaced in the past, and that changes today. 10/1 is a fair price to see if he is well handicapped. I have also backed Spirit Of Shankly today.
Agree on Kauto Stone Nass, read an interview with Ben Pauling yesterday where he thinks the horse fell out of love with the game because he was permanently getting hammered in Grade 1 races. IF (and it is a big IF) Pauling has managed to rekindle his enthusiasm then 10/1 could look massive. I like Southfield Royale in that novice chase but it feels like a race to watch rather than bet on
I see that Cocktails At Dawn has been raised a whopping 8 lbs for his win at Cheppers on Saturday. That is going to make life difficult for him in Paddy Power’s Gold Cup. Incidentally, he’s now gone up a total of 20 lbs now in just 2 races! Still I would never be one to underestimate either Mr Henderson’s brilliant brain or ‘magic hands’.
Got a bit of time on my hands today hopefully so might have a few bets, first up Alquffaal 1:30 - don't think this race will take a lot of winning and therefore could go to this newcomer who has a derby entry, bit of market support so I'll take 7/2
Had a little e/w play on Jazzy in the opener at Nottingham - stuck on well last time out over the mile
Jumped like a ****ing Skoda and still nearly grabbed it at the death. Going to be one of those days ........................

Will probably need the run but Caroline Mould's Robinshill at 25/1 has got to be worth an e/w dabble in the next at Wetherby
