Turkey are down to 10 men. All that work clawing their way into a position to qualify, and they're blowing it.
Not quite in the same class as the Euro 2004 meeting between the teams, but it's quite entertaining this Dutch/ Czech Rep match.
I'd kind of luv it it Latvia scored a late goal to send Hungary through instead of Turkey. Would be rather comical.
But they didn't. Turkey through. Playoffs: Ireland Sweden Hungary Ukraine Denmark Bosnia Slovenia Norway
Some good teams there who won't make the finals, along with the Dutch etc. Ireland will need to be at their best to get through.
Seeds (and thus potential opponents for Ireland): Sweden Hungary Ukraine Bosnia They'll presumably be happy with Hungary or Bosnia, then.
If Ibra is off his game I think they could do well against Sweden anarl. Ukraine is the hard one to predict. The away leg is a nightmare.
Considering so many teams are at tue Euros, and some who are supposedly minnows have qualified, it's surprising that so many relatively big footballing nations are either out or in the playoffs.
Iceland and Northern Ireland qualifying is remarkable enough... But ALBANIA? Even though Albania has a much, much bigger population than Iceland (and bigger than NI too), it's still easily the most surprising qualification.
