When I was in Dublin last (in 2014) they had the St George flag flying alongside all the others.

Years ago I would have said Wales but in recent years the "I support Wales and whoever is playing England" brigade have made me change my mind. OK, so I am English living in Walesland so expect a bit of stick, but some of the so called banter on social media is just plain abusive nowadays over a game of egg chasing. If next door fly's his taffy flag in his garden he is patriotic. If I fly my George cross, I am a gobby big headed Englishman who shouldn't even be here ect,ect.....so I will be supporting whoever is playing Wales.....:)

Do you think it's got worse? I did notice your Mutley was really on one the other day about this, he wasn't happy.
I had a big arguement with some the other week saying they are taking it to far. But I suppose with a majority of my family being English I felt protective.

My dad is Welsh and I always saw Wales as my 'second' nation and would always want them to do well, unless they played England.
All that changed when I worked in Cardiff at UWIC in 2003. I was shocked at how anti-English they are - and they are positively ENCOURAGED to be by their municipal masters.
Until that changes (unlikely tbh) I feel the same as you - much to my poor old dads dismay.

Like I said earlier me and Caldicot come from the same bunch of little towns, and had banter for over 20 odd years now. But I've been really shocked and it's mainly by the Welsh with some over the top comments that I got into a row with a mate, just to tell him to calm down.

Definately got worse over the years Tone.......Mutley lost it big time the other day with his welsh mates lol. As bcfcredandwhite says, it ain't gonna change any time soon. Most of my close mates just stick to banter with me, we all give it and can all take it, it's the ones who just jump in on facebook, the so called key board warriors that p155 me off.............never heared of them, never going to meet them, yet they dish out some over the top remarks in a chat I am having with a few mates?.....the joys of social media.
P.S.....you would think 15 angry, red, fire breathing dragons would beat 13 cuddly Wallabies in a scrap wouldn't you ROD? (Thats banter by the way!)

I did think he was going to lose it and start wrecking the establishment where ever he was in true Mutley style <laugh>

And as to your comment I think I answered on Facebook for you.

Plus I understand Black Rock was not the best place for the viewing, I got to see it on the bridge <ok>

I think that nationalism is on the rise in lots of places, that's how UKIP, BNP, Britain First, EDL and every other "I'm a **** group" are doing well

The England rugby team decided to visit a local orphanage to restore a little confidence and promote some much needed PR.
The press were invited and the following day, the following quote appeared.
It was a very emotional occasion. To see their sad unhappy faces, lacking in hope and feeling that no one loved them and rejected by society, it made us feel that after all we had everything to live for.
    Declan. 9 years.

At the local primary school, the teacher asked the class what their fathers do as a job.
All the children put their hands up to say that their fathers were doctors, farmers, milkmen, worked in Sainsburys, drove white vans etc. all except for Tommy who went very red and started to cry.
What is wrong Tommy asked the teacher. What does your father do.
Tommy replied that his dad worked as a stripper in a gay bar. Every night he had to perform horrible acts in the club and when he came home his mother was always crying and asked him to do something else.
I am sorry Tommy the teacher said. When this lesson is over we must have a talk about this.
At the end of the lesson, the teacher asked Tommy if that was really what his father did.
No, Tommy said. He plays rugby for England but I was too embarrassed to say so.
