I agree. spurs have been consistent but won nothing. 5th to 7th is not ahead nor behind IMO Neither club has done enough to kick on.

    exactly.

I think a wee bit of digging is needed to figure out exactly what benefits it brings. The news in italy is juve moved out of their unpopular city owned ground to their own and are creaming it now. Are west ham going to control the sales of concessions etc within the ground on match day or just who is going to rake in the cash?

    Exactly what?

They're leasing it for 99 years for £2m a year, it matters not a jot in terms of whether they own the freehold.

They also will take 100% of the matchday revenue.

Right so that answers my question thanks!

its not like an inter or ac milan where the city runs the stadium and rakes in more of the match day revenues then.

Great.. good back and forth here.

What it means is that there's been a scandalous waste of National funds, in gifting WHU the Olympic stadium, and not content with merely gifting them it, we've then paid for the vast majority of the kitting out. It stinks and it gives WHU the kind of leg up that City got when they were gifted the COMS and we all know what happened next.............

that is true. the commonwealth stadium was a fantastic facility. british athletics got neither stadiums retain for athletics. I suppose however it makes sense when the smaller grounds not necessarally being filled but thinking the next commonwealth games or a european championships or even a world championship is now basically out of the question without more investment is a bit stupid.

Could be worse, I remember going to Birmingham away and they had their substitutions sponsored! I don't think they were the only ones to do **** like that but they were in the Premier League at the time and after every sub some poor guy had to announce "this subsitution is sponsored by Hollywood MONSTERRR!" and I think injury time was sponsored by them too <laugh>

At least someone sees the risk of giving a rival a free stadium in the richest city in Europe, for a corn seed rent, with 8million potential customers. There's too much arrogance from fellow Red fans regarding Spurs and West Ham. They are a real threat to what little chance we have of getting back to the top. The next couple of years will make or break us in terms of top four. Look at United's last two transfer windows to see the investment required to get back into the race for the title.

More details of the deal been released recently.

Glad to see we are paying for pretty much all the staff to do the day to day work for West Ham <doh>

Been a monumental cock up from designing a stadium that they would then have to pay shed loads to convert into something useful, to then gift wrapping it up and pretty much handing it over to WHU to use for pennies...

West Ham would have to pay some money (doesn't say how much) if they, win the FA Cup, win the Europa League or even win the CL <doh>
