First thing I woke up to on the TV this morning was people calling him racist. <ok>

No charges will be brought against him as it's not illegal to be racist. More likely is a boycott of his products.

I'm all for Murdoch losing money.

Your question about which candidates I like from each party made me look more into the non Sanders/Clinton democrats.

I didn't know much about him before, but all I've been reading about Lawrence Lessig, I like him more and more.

Going to do a bit more research but so far out of all the candidates Lessig looks my favourite by far.

Lessig is probably a candidate that I would vote for instead of a third-party candidate like I normally do.<ok>

He's the only mainstream candidate I've read who has publically promoted a sortocracatic. [democracy ancient Greek style where some governing bodies are chosen at random from eligible candidates- gives a better representation of the people than elections and has various other advantages] government body so gets kudos for that. <ok>

Going to look closer myself TBH. It's always been an interest but I've kind of let it slide with the Obama two term thing. Now interesting again.

Noob question but if the bolded bit is true then how has Emily Blunt become an US citizen?

Britain recognises dual citizenship but the US doesn't. (although they've softened their stance over the years... Now they're ok if you claim dual citizenship but on US territory they treat your US citizenship as your only legal citizenship).

I'm a British citizen. Born in UK. I'm also a naturalized US citizen. UK recognises my dual citizenship. US only recognises my US citizenship. (officially at least).

Whoever Emily Blunt is, I assume the same is true for her.

Mentioned Boris Johnson earlier. If he flew to the US he could only legally enter using an American passport. It would be illegal for him to enter with a British passport since he holds US citizenship.

Flying back to Britain he could enter with either passport.

Gotcha, cheers for the info, interesting (unless its all made up bollocks of course <whistle>).

And how do you not know who Emily Blunt is <yikes> She seems to be on US TV all the time at the moment and had 2 big films with Edge of Tomorrow last year and Sicario this year.

I might have seen her in something but not known her name. Besides the really famous actors and actresses I rarely learn their name unless they end up on the news.

Haven't seen either of those films. I have kids so only ever make it to cinema for kids films. :(

Don't watch much TV except one show a night with Mrs before bed (our wind-down ritual) and Liverpool games. That's about all I watch.

Ahh ok, I just guessed that she's been on Ellen De Generes show, Jimmy Kimmel show & that lyp syncing thing often (judging by # of facebook videos posted of her this year) so thought she might be getting quite lot of coverage in the US. Her and her husband (John Krasinski) seem to be one of the more popular Hollywood couples at the moment, could be wrong though <laugh>

This is a picture of her for reference:

But her face isn't really that memorable IMO.

Weird choice of lipstick colour with a red dress but she looks nice enough. Never watched Ellen or Jimmy Kimmel's shows so wouldn't have seen her there.

You should do. He has backed/selected/chosen every Prime Minister since '79. Those who defy him, such as Milliband and brown, are 'removed'. He and his organisation has the goods on every public servant, police commissioner, judge, and of course, politician. If this happened in the Soviet Union or an African dictatorship there would be cries of corruption and tyranny. Here, the journalists who whigne for evermore press 'freedom' to uncover such abuses are too busy sucking his addled knob after he's wiped it on Cameron's ringpiece to even think about such lofty, Forth Estate, bogus raison detre.

I don't care what his opinions are- what he does is a different kettle of fish.
Meaning, I wouldn't let his opinions influence mine. It's because so many others have done that he has such power.
Terrible man- thoroughly nasty piece of work.

But tbf Donga's right saint, his opinions have had a bearing on our everyday life.

It's not just his opinions its his very existence that grates.

That's what I mean, if people saw his opinions for the dangerous, prejudiced crap they are, he would never have gained power to begin with.
Anyway, my initial post was meant to be no more than a gratuitous attack on the steaming turd, not a considered character assessment.
