Don't like the man but I dislike even more 'Sack the manager as soon as we're outside the top 6' mentality of a lot of PL club owners.
True but then don't feel too sorry for him - he gets a 7 million pay off I heard! Trouble is he raised expectations with that 2nd place 2 seasons ago and since then despite a lot of money being spent its been average.
BR was living on loaned time. Three years and no trophy is a disaster for Liverpool, they are another club starting to live in their past.
We must not be to hard on him he IS Mr integrative and we know he will give his 7m pay off to a Watford charity or will he ?
I have no sympathy for him at all, Mark...it's just that I don't like the way the biggest PL clubs are run, not only in terms of treatment of managers but in terms of staff, fans etc
I totally agree Theo. In this case I suspect it was an itchy trigger finger as the owners were worried someone else would get Jurgen Klopp. I always thought he'd be a good replacement for Arsene Wenger when he eventually leaves.
I do think, strangely, if Chelsea had been performing better then Liverpool may have hung on to him until at least the January window. There is a good chance Chelsea may be looking for a new manager soon, and they don't want to be beaten to Klopp. Having said that, I don't think Chelsea is the sort of club Klopp would want to manage.
How about Rodgers to Chelsea? He's a shoe in for moanin-ho!! Might get them promoted next season after they drop...
Remember when the NI job was vacant and he said that he didn't want international management at that stage in his career - I bet the top brass at the IFA are glad of that as I don't think he would have done any better than Michael O'Neill has.
To be fair, especially if Northern Ireland win tonight, who could done better? The IFA must be excited beyond belief.
