I hope Treve does it but at around evens she's probably not worth backing on likely good ground. Buick said yesterday it was more likely to be heading towards firm so i can't see her being as dominant on that ground as in previous years. I've backed Flintshire in the place market for a few quid at 2.84. Get's his conditions and always seems to run his race. Doubt he could win this race but a place (first 4 on bet fair) seems pretty realistic to me.
Thanks for the video of Qemah Oddy. She was terrific in that race. Hard on the snaff. 14/1 seems fair to me.
Hope Treve wins, just because I was there last year and would be nice to have been there during one step of history. Not sure she is backable though and think on the ground Golden Horn has a massive chance
Bets so far for today. 1.00 Ballydoyle 2.10 Jazzi Top 2.55 Big bet on Treve, saver on Golden horn, forecasts with these 2 and Flintshire 3.40 Muthmir
Looking forward to seeing the handicap chase at Fontwell today, Simply Ned and Croco Bay are starting out in that, but Dunraven is my idea of the winner today. One to watch, hope Croco is given a thoughtful season with an eye on returning to the festival.
Longchamp-My main wager today will be Treve to win & Ireland to beat Italy -20 7/2 3.40 Muthmir win 11/2 4.50 Toormore win 8/1 Tipp-Thomas Edison/Bachasson double 9/4. Tipp 2.30 Tested win 7/2
Looks a lovely sort Bob, I wish I could find a video of her debut behind Antonoe, I'm sure she came on a bundle for that and I'm sure there won't be 6 lengths between them today. Her time when winning so well at Longchamp was significantly better than Left Hand's time on the same card, even though Qemah was barely extended. She looks like the starting point today, will be my first bet. I've given myself €100 to play with, let's see if I have anything left to put on Treve
The Tipperary bumper looks an interesting rematch between Aidan's OATHKEEPER and the champion trainers PRINCE D'AUBRELLE. The former came out well in top the last time they met, and in addition he gets a weight swing too. In saying that I have little doubt PA has improved considerably and looked a fair animal hosing up at Galway and Killarney since. The only thing that keeps screaming out at me is there's no shortage of bumper horses at Closutton they could have aimed at this, yet there persisting with this lad on worse terms...Then I look at the prices OATHKEEPER has been backed into 4/6 with the PRINCE drifting out to 6/4. At those prices I'm having a little stab on Willies animal. I think he'll go dam close to turning it around with the O'Brien horse. Looked at the Arc market again. FREE EAGLE at the prices is the clear standout each way bet at 16/1. We all have our own opinions on what would have happened in the Irish Champion Stakes, but it's reasonable to assume there wouldn't have been a huge amount in it. Watch that race again, the way the EAGLE travelled all over the Epsom Derby winner rounding the bend. Travelled like easily the best horse in the race. Will love the quickening ground and I don't make excuses about the draw. He'll travel like a class horse today and he's the each-way bet at 16s as much as I'd love TREVE to win, if the ground hardens up, she gets slightly vulnerable. I've only seen Buicks comments this morning, 'close to firm'...We're all wasting our time opposing GOLDEN HORN if that is the case, listening to the mad man Oppenheimers pre race comments
15:40 Longchamp - Rangali e/w (Bit over-budget today after bet on New Bay on Friday, but am hopeful of a return to form with this smart sprinter. Beaten by just a head in the Prix de l'Abbaye last year (lost race in last stride). Better ground today will suit him. Now with first-time visor. Very good jockey, so worth a small punt e/w at 28/1 with Corals).
Golden Horn had to do it the hard way from the front, I'm sure if he was in behind he'd be travelling all over Free Eagle. The best horse won that race without a doubt and today he will prove that
Obviously Treve is all the go, but 20-1 EW Flintshire is wonderful odds. Sure things often get beaten, if they didn't we'd all be bloody rich.
Qemah was the last filly off the bridle but couldn't quite get there as the winner had gone. Hats off to AOB, got it spot on with Ballydoyle today.
Cracking filly that. Didn't show running last day under a poor ride and not sure todays race suited either. Atzeni got the sack?
Cannot see past Treve in the Arc , couple I like with a low draw EW Erupt and Eagle top , just got back from the states business rather than pleasure Good luck everyone
Bet of the year so far was Austrailia beating England , like the look of Tonga plus 20 on the handicap today along with Ireland -21 against Italy
