And that gentlemen is why we are going down! Lowest point of the season for me. On the rare occasions that we are good we blow it. Teams are there for the taking, we leave the door slightly ajar and they take advantage. Pathetic really! Whats the point? (shrugs shoulders)
2-0 up on 45 minutes, and dominating? At the time a draw would have felt like a defeat to me. It'll feel like a defeat to the players as far as confidence is concerned. A win today could have bred confidence and more points, however a point, after the first 45 minutes we had, is almost useless to us, might as well have getting beat as far as I'm concerned. 2 thrown away......often happens to teams in the ****, if we could have held on till half time we would probably have won, but no, the footballing devil farts in our faces once more. Typical Sunderland.
A point is a point though, and could be vital at the end of the season, our superb first half has to be a possitive and if this team can keep in touch by January it is all to play for ktf.
We are not good enough to allow ourselves to throw away three points when they are handed to us on a plate. We will not get many more oppurtunities like today! I think todays result is as big a kick in the teeth as a crushing defeat, doesnt matter what positives can be grabbed from the game. I would suggest we would have grabbed more positives if we had played terribly but won with a 90th minute deflection off Borini's bell end, the biggest positive of all.....3 points, which just may have kickstarted our season and put us in the mix amongst the teams above us. 45 minutes of domination against a lacklustre West Ham will not breed confidence, especially when you think that most other teams would have not given them a sniff of a chance to get back in the game. Any optimism from todays first half can quickly disintergrate in something like the 9 minutes against Bournemouth. As you can probably tell I am totally fed up and Newcastle getting humped does not even cheer me up at present.
You wouldnt think it possible to be wrong twice in that statement. haha! I wouldnt worry about it though, I was nodding in agreement with you until I saw Taricco's response.
19 Up Sunderland 8 -10 3 20 Down Newcastle United 8 -11 3 We may be ****e but we`re still better than the mags. Isn`t that right @Wij Is God ?
At the beginning of the season I would have taken being only 5 points off Chelsea at the beginning of October!!! Hmmmm
Gutted but very happy with the performance. Not happy with the sending off because it should have set the tone and Noble should have gone. Lens looked like soft bookings in none threatening areas and the second he played the ball, don't know if he took the man first but even if he did, not exactly the area to be branding a 2nd yellow. Conceding on the stroke of halftime was a big problem but the lack of extra man from the crowd was pathetic. Like a stand full of mice in the north stand. God won't help those who won't help themselves. We just allowed the visiting fans above us to raise west ham's game. Spineless. Worst man on the pitch was the north stand. Will never sit there again... Ever!
Wish I was mate. Even to sit in with you guys.... I am up in York over that weekend so perhaps if something pops up, I'll go
If you're up in York maybe devote your time to Joe? Not sure of his situation but I get the sense it isn't good(). Not sure where that leaves you but wish him our very best from myself and my lady if you get the chance. I'm worried about the man. Any update on his and his lady's well being?
Oh I will definitely be seeing Joe. I am up for well over a week due to annual leave. The timing of the annual leave was to coincide with the derby and a feeble attempt to get tickets (turns out you need a purchase history with Sunderland OR a certain amount of membership points to sit with the toon fans). Joe is fine mate. He has to be! He's a fighter and someone I admire (as well as call a very, very good friend)
