With just a couple of weeks to go, who do Town 606ers think will be in the running for promotion this season? I fear Town will not have enough for a play-off place this time around and I fancy Forest to do well under Mclaren. My top six prediction would be, in no particular order: West Ham Forest Leicester Reading Brum Leeds
Swap Middlesbrough for Leeds. maybe Blackpool should be up there too. I fancy one of the clubs coming down to have a stinker. It seems like we're going for it on a budget this year. Frankly, with signings we've made we'll improve but I don't think we're good enough yet. Can't really decide until the transfer window closes.....
I think the way reading were playing near the end of last season they've got a very good chance this season.
I'm really going to stick my neck out here...if we can sign a quality CB, to go with another right back, and two more in midfield ( one being a wingers) to supply the amo for the 30 goal striker we'll buy....then its game set and match, play offs here we come!!
Thank god for that being odds on favourites last season killed us LOL! Please don`t let anyone say Cardiff and ruin our chance now. If fans had any clue the bookies would be down the job centre.
its not looking good is it even when the hard core of supporters cant see the town even in the top six ?????????????????/
I think this season everyone can see it is about rebuilding, I'm certainly more optimistic than I have been that we are moving in the right direction for quite some time but we are having to start from scratch and bring in alot of players because our squad severly lacked quality last season. IMO we need 5 more quality signings to be certs in the playoffs and possible top 2 contenders, I think we need a RB, CB, CM, a winger and another striker. Whoever Jewell gets in over the few weeks, I expect us next season to be in and around the bottom end of the top half of the table and flirting with the playoffs next season, which I see as reasonable progress. We could surprise some people by getting a bit of a run together and finding some consistency, which will be key next season. I expect Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham Forrest and West Ham to be challenging for the top 2 places, although there is always a surprise. I think Brighton and Southampton could also surprise a few people. Other than that there do not seem much between the other teams at all, I'm really struggling this year to predict.
Hang on a god damn picking minute! In one thread 'White Horse' is moaning because nobody is putting Ipswich in at least the playoff places, YET, in a thread posted by himself less than 1 hour after this he is saying that PJ should be sacked because he hasn't signed any quality players! seems to me that somebody needs to make their mind up!
Teams I think that are capable of doing things..... Leicester.... Forest under McLaren..... Boro ourselves ( I like our summer transfer activity and know there is more on the way ) Teams I'm very unsure about are as follows, and the ones I haven't mentioned I rightly or wrongly don't feel they could be a threat to the top 6. I cannot possibly give a predicted table until I see every teams summer goings on. West Ham - Signed Nolan, however financial mess. Could do well under Sam Brum - new manager, players leaving, unsure however they house quality. Cardiff - had written them off however 3 smart signings so far and could go well Blackpool - B Ferguson speaks volumes he wouldn't have gone to finish bottom half. In a mess squad wise but could get more in. Reading - selling top players but have a good squad Hull - ended last season well. I think they could be dangerous outsiders Saints - have a good squad and could well be contenders. As you can see by my post, the more I looked into it, the more I liked the looks of many teams. The championship is such a ridiculous league. Anyone can beat anyone ( last season Scunny ran riot over QPR at home ) and I think there will be a good 15 sides looking at delivering this season.
Evening guys, Top six? Forest, Leicester And those happy Hammers. Then anyone from Saints,Burnley, Reading,Hull and us. I think we'll get 2 or 3 more in and if,IF, we stay injury free as our squad looks quiet thin (to say the least) i think we'll do ok. Those 2 or 3 good signings need to be good ones. Brum and Cardiff look a bit of a mess right now with a bit of rebuilding to do. If they've got the money.
