Funny how people differ. I find basketball the most boring of sports. Someone scores what the commentator describes as a vital basket. Someone goes to the other end to score what is described as an absolutely crucial one.they each continue scoring vita, important, crucial baskets every few seconds.

I used to think the same about basketball, but once you realise the rules, it's probably the only game I can get excited about bar football!

I played at local level, but tbh it was just an excuse to get pissed afterwards. We were shockingly bad. It's not something I could watch in the UK, live or on TV, but in the US it's just on a completely different level and I got swept up with it.

Ice Hockey, Baseball, nope. Seen both, Hockey in the UK in fact, but just didn't do it for me.

The problem with ice hockey is you lose track of the puck! The game itself is quite good apart from the stupid, every game has to have a fight in it!

Yeah, the ugly ones fight, the pretty ones skate around and score. Felt a bit like wrestling to me.

Wrestling, now theres a great sport, not this crap from the States, im talking Big daddy , Giant Haystacks etc.

Ive been lucky enough to visit Tokyo, when we got there we had just missed the Sumo season but alot of the wrestlers were out and about, hell they are massive in both a physical way and stardom way.

I've been to see a baseball game and American football game both in the USA. Whilst I cant deny the atmosphere was pretty good, I got bored of both and left. Could be down to the fact that we didnt understand the games been played, or fact that we prefered to spend the time on the piss.

Same with rugby really, there are a lot of laws in both codes, to anyone who has not really played or taken an interest in the game it can sometimes come across as pointless brutality.

I really enjoyed the baseball when I went, so much so I carried on following it when I got back to the UK, just so happens my adopted team are the worst in the entire league but after years of following City and FC it seemed rather fitting.

I enjoyed the basketball too but that's probably because I played for years. I'm going to Miami for christmas and just bought tickets for the Dolphins game the day after boxing day so looking forward to that but I won't have the faintest idea what's going on.

I went to watch Miami in February V the NY nicks, was really looking forward to it as i loved playing Basketball as a kid and thought it would be a game i would be able to get into when i moved over here, The game was ok but so annoying the play music during play and the crowed was silent!
In fact the biggest cheer was for the golden oldies cheer leaders! lol

Part of the problem might of been it was a mid season game and the Heat where not doing so good after winning it a few years before!
Hope its a better experience for you.

got my tickets of Stub hub if you not got yours yet, i found that the best place to get them!

I was in Boston when I watched the baseball, to be honest it was our first day/ night ashore after 3 weeks at sea. Washington was where I watched the American football game. Both were really well attended, don't think they were far from a sell out.
Don't get me wrong the atmosphere I just something else, but then Americans always seem excitable to me!

23-13 Wales ended up beating Fiji. No bonus points for Wales then, but even though if England fail to beat Australia at the weekend then it's pretty much end of tournament for England.

Don't think Wales looked anything special against Fiji, which just makes last weekends result even more frustrating.

Looking forward to this France v Canada game.

I went to watch the basketball in Brooklyn and it was the same sort of experience, not a great game and annoying music but the novelty of it all made it a worthwhile experience.

Judging by your username I'm guessing you live in Calgary? I'm going there for the first time early next year for a conference, was planning to stay for an extra week or so to take in the sights, anything you recommend?

The French are looking pretty good tonight, Canada are doing well, defending a few 5 meter scrums. MK Stadium looks packed too.
Prince Harry there along with the French President.

Thumbs down to that Gladiators vs Lions game - it was rubbish. In the mane, too much corruption and fake blood imo.

Tune in to the Broncos v Cowboys NRL Grand Final TC , being played this Sunday to a full house at the old Sydney Olympic Stadium. Both teams play a quick open game and the ground will be lightning fast with Sydney about to start a 4 day heatwave! The best player in the world will be there(although maybe not 100% fit).

Will give you a wave as I will be there having been to them all since 1969.
