Sorry Ivan has got to be benched , he's getting done down the side and he can't hit a cross accurately to save his life at the moment, an the Team is losing confidence because no matter how many we score, we know we will let one in at the moment. Also with JT to organise the Defence we get done on corners. I'm sorry but I'm used to knowing that we had people on the post to clear , things like the second goal away, when did we stop doing that ?
We were more than a little bit unlucky in this match and had our chances. A clear cut, locked on handball penalty not given didn't help. But even if given, a penalty wouldn't have won us the match. Some encouraging signs, but the big turn around in form is still yet to happen. The same lack of a cutting edge is still there and the disorganised defence has not improved a jot. Willian, on the other hand, is playing extremely well. We can still win this group, but the CL looks a task too far.
Ivan is a disgrace. You cannot blame it on age or Form. He is clearly disinterested either due to his contract or Eva situation. Jose is using Ivan efficiently to expedite his mutual break away from us. Jose is clearly up to something!! **** off Jose!! He might as well hand in 3pts instead of the team sheet before kick off - instead of Ivan + Mikel + Fab!!
It is concerning and also quite strange, how Ivanovic continues to play ninety minutes each game. We've had some awful performers this season but, for me, he's been the worst and that's by quite a large distance. The only reason I can see why he's picked at the minute is because without him and JT we have nobody to really stand in as captain. But that alone is a very poor reason to pick such an out of form player. This was still our toughest game in the group and I still fancy us to go through and actually win the group, despite the horrific season so far.
Ivanovic is literally dog ****. We've signed a £25m left back rated as one of the best full backs in the bundesliga last season, who barely makes the bench for some utterly bizarre reason, use him! Ivanovic and Fabregas need to be benched. Bring in Baba, Ramires and Willian.
JT has done his time as a bench warmer. If for no other reason, he must be on the pitch as a LEADER!!
Now Ramires is a strange one, he was a fantastic midfielder and then all of a sudden he's down the pecking order. I'd give him a run of games, let him find his feet again and I think he'll be a big performer for you.
He has definitely earned another shot after his last couple of performances. As long as Fabregas is benched I'm not too bothered who replaces him to be honest, Loftus Cheek would be a good replacement too.
How do you think you lot will line up on Saturday? I kinda hope JT plays as he didn't enjoy coming up against Mane last season but I reckon you'll probably play Zouma for that exact reason. Remy the 2nd choice striker or will it be Falcao?
I would play Begavic, Azpi, Rahman, Zouma and Terry. Matic and Ramires. Hazard, Oscar and Willian, Remy up front. Either way, I expect a very tough and close game.
You need your head checking with those comments. These are still 2 club legends. a little perspective and respect is required. Note...I think Ivan does need to be dropped but to call him a disgrace....Jesus Wept.
Rahman looked decent in the last C.L match. Jose has to give him some games or how else is he going to be ready when required?? I personally think the problem is Hazard. Dave is a very good defender and happy to sit back most of the time which gives Hazard the greater freedom and less defensive duty. This was pretty much confirmed by a recent Schurrle interview. If that is the issue, push Hazard to 10 where there is less defensive work to do, Pedro right, Kenedy or Willian left, midfield of Matic and another. Then play Dave and Rahman at full back.
