I remember a while back that Nick Barmby said he was waiting for the right manegerial job to come along before he went back into management. I spoke to him about 3 or 4 months ago and he said he'd had plenty of offers but he was investing a lot of time into some sort of youth set up somewhere (I didn't ask for details but I think somebody on here mentioned it). If Robins goes at Scunthorpe, would he fit the bill? With Dawson being there it might swing it? Correct me if I'm wrong, was he not offered the job after Wilcox got the boot?
Don't think he's interested. He made some comments at one of Andy Dawson's testimonial events about being put off management after his experience at City and advising Dawson as his friend not to get into it. Might be to do with getting sacked for absolutely **** all.
Would love him back in charge here with Pennock as his assistant (sorry Chazz). We might finally see some creative attacking football!!!
I'd like to see Barmby back in football in some capacity, he was probably the first to get the shoddy treatment from the Allams so it's safe to say we can question what happened now going on events since
Can't wait for the Allams to **** off so Bruce can **** off with them and Barmby can come back in to get this squad playing like it should.
Why, he was ****e that why he got sacked! Good footballers don't always make good managers and he is one of those!
I don't know him personally, you maybe do? but in my opinion he came across as arrogant and his team selection was poor.
Team selection was poor, you've just made that up Assuming you even supported City before the Allams, you've obviously forgotten that there was barely a choice to make. We had about 14 first team players that season.
Which, as I've shown before, wasn't your opinion until Allam sacked him. Since then you've been adamant of it. Laughable.
I heard the water they found on Mars is your tears from crying like a bitch all the time. The only thing your amusing attempts in the past showed was that I was consistent. Unlike you and the other plastic turds we've attracted, I will support the team always. At the time we seemed to have little choice. Then St Nick spat his dummy out and we ended up with someone who did a brilliant job. Nick was always out of his depth. He couldn't seem to make the change from being one of the lads and a player to being a manager. Promotion in post is rarely a good idea. He's also a classic example of someone who gets better at something the longer he doesn't do it.
He didn't have any temper tantrums, he just said he hadn't been allowed to buy anyone and he hadn't. His removal was entirely engineered, he did absolutely nothing wrong, but obviously as your lord and master engineered it, you'll keep pretending it was the right thing to do.
Barmby was an attacking midfielder who gave 100% effort every time he pulled on a City shirt. Countless times we saw him getting stuck in against opposition midfielders/defenders (usually much bigger than him) trying to win the ball & to then go forward with it. If he could instill that mentality into the current squad I'd have him back as manager tomorrow. He was forced to take the managers job by the Allams after Warren Joyce did a last minute U-turn. He stepped up & was then disgracefuly sacked by the Allams on some ludicrous trumped up charge of misconduct.
