Maybe the lower numbers for the earlier away games made the club (and maybe fans) think the allocation for this one wouldn't sell either. Least the club are going to get some more tickets next week. I can see us fully selling out for most nearer games, especially the Yorkshire ones.
I can understand that stand point if Forest where selling out But they seem to have a few thousand emptu seats for most games so why not have a sale and returns policy
Club's used to and the odd one still does (particularly those with smaller attendances), but most changed a season or two back.
I think for some clubs, the full allocation needs additional stewards, concessions, turnstile operators etc which could mean it could cost them money if they away team only sells a few tickets over the initial allocation, so the home team puts the financial risk on the visitors. I expect we do the same.
It was probably downgraded from cat A as it's now being televised, and many would take that option rather than pay £50 a ticket.
