Extraordinary scenes at the baseball match yesterday Phillies at Washington Nationals: Bottom of the 8th with the score at 4-4 the Nat's pitcher and first baseman have a right set-to and have to be pulled apart by the players. The first baseman is taken out of the game and the pitcher goes on field.... Phillies score 8 runs in the top of the 9th, ultimately winning 12-5. Unbelievable stuff. http://m.mlb.com/video/v505505983/phiwsh-harper-papelbon-separated-after-dispute/?game_pk=415979
I feel a bit for the bowlers in this test series - the pitch is meat and drink to the likes of Cook and Root and the top Pakistan batsmen.
What an extraordinary Test Mast this has been. Pakistan and England score over 1,000 runs between them in their first innings, then Parkistan are bowled out for 173.
Erm, if the batsman can see the ball at 70+mph to hit it then the fielders can catch it at 40+ mph. Bowlers given the light? FFS!!!
Some good sporting news with Hamilton winning the F1 title. Looks like we are going to lose the cricket though.
Yes - the lower order did well. Trouble is we cannot rely on Cook and Root at the top - no wonder they have back problems!
Totally agree with you Dave. He was a wonderful player in a golden age for cricketers. I actually knew all of the players in those days rather than wonder where the latest test player has come from. Maybe the game was not so heavily indebted to the money men in his day.
Calls for Russia to be banned from athletics after the latest revelations: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/athletics/34765444 Will they though baring in mind the power Russia probably have?
I see Kitchen and Broom opened the batting for Otago yesterday. Very much a domestic competition then
