What I find unbelieveable is that there is now literally thought crime. Like with the Minority Report movie, future crime is also a reality, arrested and charged for a crime you may or may not commit in the future. It is a crime to think, to read and more and more laws get thought up by think tanks every day.

This is a mechanism for deeming anyone a "threat" by means of labelling any sources of information as "extremist".

There is no doubt conspiracy sites and discussion are deemed extremist, Cameron said they are "as bad as ISIS" at his UN speech.

So you see where this is going.. government's line on any matter is correct and any dissent is a "threat to national security" and "extremist".

A trick of language because if the government is going far right with total control of speech and complete surveillance, then being opposed to such an extreme position makes you extreme to that viewpoint relatively by definition.

It's like a racist calling an anti racism campaigner an "extremist" for having such an "extreme" view relative to theirs.

shocking! You would imagine that any Muslims on that or similar courses would be viewed as being
very suspicious by others. So much so I am surprised this kind of thing has not happened before and I would think a lot of Muslims would not enrol in such studies for fear of it.

I'm more concerned with the principle of reading any book being considered a crime... except Gerrard's autobiography ofcourse.

There is an old film called "Fahrenheit 451" (from the book of the same name) in which all books are made illegal (and burnt, hence the name) to stop the spread of knowledge and free thought. This could become almost reality in the future with only prescribed reading allowed.

It was prescribed reading for the course he was taking

That's part of why it's so ****ing next-level ******ed

Reading a textbook in a university library. Proper dodgy. Everyone else is just posting selfies from their phones.

I know, but it's the first step. That book could now be withdrawn (to stop other "un-desirables" reading it) and then which book is next?

    Totally man<laugh>

it is proof that the assumption "I am doing nothing wrong so I don't care if big brother watches everytihng I do" is an incorrect one.

This is proof that you do not decide if you are doing something wrong, someone else decides with ever changing criteria for what is "wrong".

You could have found it yourself as easily and much quicker than asking me for the link surely.

Is it because you are interested or because you want me to "prove it" ?

I mean how hard is it to type into google "Cameron "Non violent conspiracy theorists as bad as ISIS"" You only get about 157000 results <laugh>

    From the horses mouth @terrifictraore

Anyone that can read between the lines sees that any discussion and disagreement on what the "state" claims to be true is "extremist".

Cameron clearly infers that terrorists were influenced by those who do not share his world view, he defined that opposing world view as "Non violent extremism" and talked of banning it, and even linked these "extremists" to recruiters for ISIS by saying we must stop these non violent extremists recuiting on campuses and even prisons.

I am exactly who he is talking about, having an opinion and actually not believing all the bullshit we are fed makes me extremist. Cameron selling weapons to the religiously extremist saudis to slaughter civilians, no that is not extremist.

I have yet to recruit my first Jihadist <laugh> Cameron is a ludicrous ****ing ******

But you are a bell end I'd hardly expect you to be objective.

So its inferred now and not a direct quote. I never defended what cameron says in that video so you can drop that straw man argument, although I must admit I do think that people who claim that 9/11 was a jewish conspiracy and 7/7 was a staged event are probably ripe for radicalisation,

Closed minded maybe, not willing to accept reality also, I've met a few tbh. But ripe for radicalisation - not a chance. It's the fact they believe it has to be an organised conspiracy and that "average folk" couldn't possibly carry out such an abhorrent act, that is partly the reason they themselves could never subscribe to it.

Definitely some would never be radicallised and TBF i would generally include Sisu in that although if it gets worse he might ( like myself and many others).. No as you say Sisu and his elk (sic ) are much more about normal human instincts such as looking for patterns, order and structure. I could add to that but then sisu would continue his usual complaint about how its personal even though it's essentially a textbook description.

To be honest I thought you were talking about general conspiracy theorists. In this case muslims who find it hard to reconcile ppl who share their faith (albeit to the extreme) could carry out such acts. In such instances, those I've met usually distance themselves completely from such actions, and therefore cannot believe it can be "one of their own" but instead must be State instigated. It's ridiculous and naive but not malicious tbf.

Yes sorry it's sort of all mixed up, I was talking generally but yes every single Muslim I have spoken to about this ( prob not many more than a dozen ) all think what we would describe as terrorism as being abhorrent, strangely a couple amongst that group will defend other "unacceptable" ideas eg FGM, arranged marriage, honour based violence.
It's a strange old world and we all find it hard to accept ideas that go against what we assume are normal whatever the **** that means.

That's some good A + B = H logic right there <laugh> People do not just read or listen to something and become radicalised, your environment is the reason you are as you are, not because of what someone says that you read as a fully developed adult.
    <doh>

Everyone I know who dabbles in theory, everyone.. not one of them are radical in any way, they are critical and objective.

    You sound like Cameron <laugh>
