Watched the race live - couldn't be arsed to open my laptop and practically fell back asleep by the end.

A shame Nasr retired - would have been only the fourth time in history we had 100% classification, plus he'd been doing well.

Deserved win for Hamilton, good fightback from Rosberg, Williams disappointing, bit of a silly mistake by Sainz, oh dear Mclaren, quietly effective performances by Hulk, Lotus and Vettel, thought Massa was quite clumsy at the start.

Maybe if Sochi is more like Singapore the cars will be closer together?

Poor Nico. He's Vettel's bitch and they're not even on the same team.

Won't be long before rosberg cracks. Hamilton has torn him apart. Rosberg out Alonso in for next year that would be ideal.

    8-3 in race wins..
Would have been 9-2 if not for the unnecessary pit stop at Monaco..
If both Mercs remain reliable, can see this championship being won in Mexico..
For the sake of the sport and fans, do hope Ferrari and Ferrari powered RedBull can take the fight to the Mercs next season..
Otherwise, people will be switching off in their droves!!

Far fetched.. (Will never happeb) But Alonso to Merc would be epic!!

It would be somewhat amusing if next season is really close and then the new aero rules **** everything up again.

Well, not amusing but you get what I mean

This is true... does remind you that one of Alonso's biggest struggles has been that he consistently picks the wrong teams.

Alonso in a McLaren was supposed to be the dogs danglies (c.2007) but that still went tits up for him.

Would he really want to go to another 'Hamilton' team (if there is such a thing)? Guess the excuses would already be there if he didn't win.........

I do kind of hate the fact that he is a wasted talent at the moment, he brings excitement wherever he goes. I guess that is F1. Another G. Villeneuve or Jean Alesi...

Also what really has Nico shown that warrants him a drive in the best car on the grid for next year? He hasn't even had Hamiltons attention for even a second. Lewis has been more concerned about Vettel.

Did anyone hear Helmut Marco ? If I understand , he is saying they are being offered a B-class engine , and that is not good enough . Tough **** IMHO . You took all the glory when you were winning ! Does this also imply the buyout by the VAG is dead in the water ?

Can't compare Alonso with those two.

Alonso at least achieved what everyone thought he would in the earlier stages of his career with his 2xWDC. GV and JA never got to their full potential, for clearly different reasons.

I do think he has been hanging on to the reputation he got for those WDC's, but it is nearly 10 years since he last won a WDC, whether that be because of bad cars, bad decisions etc, but they all play a part. Any team taking him on are now taking a gamble IMHO as he ended up destabilsing McLaren and Ferrari before leaving and has now publicly humiliated Honda in their own back yard with his comments on the race.

If a team has a good settled driver line up, why would they now want Alonso? Rosberg is nowhere near as good as Hamilton, but the team gets 1-2's. Perfect from their point of view.
