Like: Fulham - Seem like a London version of Portsmouth, mid-tableish, small ground but good fans. Aston Villa - Seems a decent side, lots of young English players. Shame they keep on selling their best players. Farnborough - Because they're awesome. Reading - Because they're Southern. Southampton - because they're Southern, have a decent stadium and produce lots of good English talent and they're near the sea! Dislike: Man U - Mainly due to Ferguson, Rooney, the fact that the media fawn over them all the time and glory supporting fans who don't even know where Manchester is and certainly haven't ever been there! Chelsea - They're one of the top four, and they have quite a few glory supporters too I think. Man City - Ridiculous transfer policy (i.e. buy anyone who's known for being remotely good, whether they fit the team or not for ridiculous amounts of money), and Mancini just seems so..... uninspiring. Tottenham - Seem very self-absorbed as a club, some of their fans are annoying, Redknapp and Defoe. Woking - Some of their fans are really really chavvy. And annoying. The majority I'm sure are nice decent people, but my experience of Woking has been sullied by a bunch of chavvy ones, and I don't appreciate being kept in the stadium 20 minutes after the final whistle and then having to be escorted out (along with my fellow supporters) to stop us being attacked.
LIKES: 1) THE SAINTS!! 2) Norwich City - great fan base/support/backing! 3) Reading - decent and local 4) Arsenal - used to support them when I was very young... 5) Swansea - a growing club that has done their small community proud HATES: 1) P*rtsmuffinitmush 2) Chelsea - hate the players more than the club. JT can do one as far as I care. Always complain when Drogba gets tickled over, yet when he karate kicks someones head off it is all right... PURE HATE! 3) Man Utd - cheats, plastic fans etc... 4) Bournemouth - for trying to create a rivalry out of nothing last season. Hilarious I think they lost... 5) Newcastle Utd - not sure why..., just a bit too nothern for me
i need to move spurs from my 'on the fence' list to 'dislike' list - one reason only THEY KEEP STEALING OUR FRICKIN SONG
Likes 1. Saints obviously 2. Southend - Anyone who went to that game a few years back will know why 3. Yeovil - Don't know why, i think i liked their kit when i was a kid. 4. Stoke - A lot of people wont agree but i like how they play football. Dislikes 1. Pompey - no reason needed 2. Brighton - Never minded them but now i can't stand their deluded fans 3. Watford - Been their too many times, horrible town, rubbish ground and awful fans. I dont like Elton John either 4. Norwich - Delia Smith and their happy clappy middle aged fans all wearing replica shirts, face paint and jester hats.
The Southend fans were good that day; as were Walsall last year(though they weren't relegated like Southend) Bit harsh on Norwich; I lke going there with my young lad as they are a good family club and although yes a few oldies, but good atmosphere.
Interesting how the answers to the original question now throw much more light more quickly on our prejudices. There's no justification attempted, the language just gets more abusive. Luckily I'm above that rabble-rousing, Joseph Goebbels - type cant. Here is my list: 1. Saints. Anybody who doesn't agree is a sad loser. 2. Er Betis. Anybody from Seville who don't support them are rich snobz. 3. Lazio. Paolo di Canio knew what he was on about. 4. Real Madrid. Knobheads who don't like them are catalan or basque terrorists. 5. Overton. Always loved them since they played Tadley in a local league final at Thorneycrofts, lovely yellow shirts and black shorts. 1. Pompey. I hope all their supporters die of Khan, sir. 2. Manure. All their fans are plastic. I have no idea what that means, but it saves me thinking when I write. 3. Barcelona. Just hate their tikki-takki football, it really does my head in. See (2). 4. Newcastle. Northern gits, why don't they talk like us. 5. Southampton. Bloody rich gits. Snobz.
Likes 1. Southampton 2. Bath City 3. Leeds United 4. Liverpool 5. Tottenham Dislikes 1. Pompey 2. Chelsea 3. Brighton 4. Bournemouth 5. Manchester United
Likes 1 Saints - Obvious! 2 Arsenal - Only real succesful southern team when young - 80's :-( and quality football now. 3 Birmingham - Family Reasons 4 Exeter - ****e ground but best supporters off my local clubs in the south west. 5ish Leeds - A much bigger and historic club than some of the global wannabees (Chelski, Spurs etc) would like to see them backstrong, after us. Dislikes 1 Pompey Fuc&wits 2 Man Utd - So many many reasons see 4) liverpool for one. 3 Tottenham - Many many reasons have hacked us off many times over years transfers, managers, big games and trying to steal our song. 4 Liverpool - Never have liked them. Why do southerners support northern clubs? Doesn't happen the other way. 5 Fulham, Stoke, Wigan, Blackburn, Wolves, West Brom, QPR, Bolton, Swansea who are taken the place of more worthy teams in the top flight and making match of the day a turn off. Although good luck to them! Could list many more though.........
Likeeee: 1. Swansea - I'm half Welsh and all that side of the family are Jacks fans - My cousin plays for them. 2. Norwich - Real good, honest club - Probably the closest club in size of stature fan base and the way they're run to Saints. Also the little love-in that there seems to be between our and their fans haha. 3. Chelsea - Used to live in London and went to some Chelsea games - Zola was incredible. 4. Fulham - Another good honest club, I don't really know why I just really like them. 5. Huddersfield - I feel sorry for them and their fans, they needed promotion this year but got pipped by Posh at the finishing life, thought it was a shame as they deserved to go up and now they've lost all their star players. Hateeeee: 1. Pompey - Eeeuuggh, what's not to hate about them! 2. Peterborough - Hate hate hate them. Arrogant fans, t*sser for a manager, small tinpot club who don't deserve to be in the Championship. 3. Man United - Everything about them is despise'able. Apart from Hernandez - he's awesome. 4. Arsenal - Wenger is a fool. Always moaning. Try and pinch our players all the time - go find your own talent! Frustrating to watch... Pass pass pass, sideways sideways sideways... Reach the box and then lose it. Won't let Fabregas go when he deserves his move after staying loyal. 5. Blackburn - Dirrrrttttyyyyy.
The defintition of a plastic fan is somebody who only turns up to matches or pays interest in a club when they appear to be doing well
Aside from stating the two bleeding obvious, mine are: Like 1. Liverpool 2. Reading 3. Bournemouth 4. Ipswich 5. Bolton Dislike 1. Spurs 2. Man Utd 3. Leeds 4. Everton 5. Derby
Like 1. Liverpool (my prem team since we been out of it) 2. Norwich - As many have said - similar club to saints and likeable chair person 3. Bournemouth (despite the rivalry of last season, i like the club and the fans) 4. Bristol City - best mate supports them, and ive seen them at millennium stadium in play off final, plus been to rovers v city derby! 5. Plymouth - Feel for them a bit - great supporters but extermely unlucky recently Dislike 1. Wolves - I actually like the club but hate the manager - he's gobby and useless! 2. Man Utd - again, dont mind the club (has produced many good england players), but hate the fans. 3. Ports muff - no justifcation needed 4. Huddersfield - arrogant fans - a club that achieved nothing post war - where does the arrohgance come from? 5. Peterbourough - Well - again - dodgy fans - stupid manager. ignorant owner. enough said.
Teams I like (in no particular order): Everton, Bolton, Norwich, Nottingham Forest, Peterborough. I'm not sure what the reason for any of these is, any game of football you watch you will always naturally tend towards one team or the other and I find myself cheering these on from time to time. I went to the Reebok Stadium to see Bolton v Arsenal years ago when I was on football tour and Bolton won 1-0, was good steam and a cracker ground. Five teams I dislike are, again in no particular order: Portsmouth, Man United, Blackpool, Charlton, Hull.
