To me Jimmy Bullard leaving and Ipswich reportedly paying 40% of his wages, not the 10% reported by our paper, is a very good deal according to pearson it has funded Evans, Stewart, and Belaids wages and left room for more. He wasn't playing and let's face it we all think when his next injury will be, his reported antics are now out of the way and hopefully Jimmy will have an injury free time at Ipswich but not be too good and take them above us ;)
Hopefully it will pave the way for either Koren or Belaid in the middle on sat and showing that were better off without him

I bet by the end of the season Connor Wickham will be smoking crack with Bullard in some dodgy Ipswich drinking hole - he seems to like to corrupt the young uns does Jimbo!

The Belaid deal seemed to become a possibilty when the money was freed up by the Zayatte departure. If the money we are getting from Ipswich covers Belaid and 2 other players that had already been budgeted for then there is still about 20k off the wages that has not been respent this week. Good news either way, a bit of wriggle room for the Pearsons should we look to get another loanee in (Ayala etc), but also another big chunk off the annual bill.

The whole thing just seems good business to me. We get players that are actually going to feature and we are saving money. Keep hearing people complaining that we are spending money on Bullard when the reality is it is a saving against already existing costs. Lets hope we get to see Belaid, Evans and Stewart in the same team and have a real go at someone!

If it is 40% i'd be a lot happier about it than i am! Because the 10k being reported is ridiculous!

The HDM, the original source of the £10k figure has revised it to 40% now. Even if it was only £10k though it's paying Belaid, Evans, and Stewart's wages. I'd rather be paying the £45k out and have those 3 playing than having Bullard to sit on the bench/in the stands as was going to be happening.

Would 10k cover all their wages? I thought funds for belaid were freed up from Zayatte's departure? And Stewart came in long before the Bullard loan so we must have had money for it. Ah well, i'm a bit happier with it being 40%, 10k would have been a massive disapointment, and had it of been true i'm sure some prem clubs would have snapped our hands off to have JB for 10k a week despite attitude/injuries.

I don't know if £10k would, but a seperate statement from AP apparently says Ipswich's contribution covers their wages so I've just made the 45k outlay comparison.

I don't think he means literally, merely that he is justifying what we can do with the partial payment of Bullard's wages.
