STOKE manager Mark Hughes is adamant his team will not become another QPR.

Hughes has brushed off comparisons between his Potters side and the Rangers team that got him sacked at Loftus Road in 2012.
Stoke are without a Premier League win in six attempts this season and sit in the bottom three ahead of today's home game with Bournemouth.

But Hughes says they will not collapse like QPR, who dismissed him in November 2012 after a summer of big-name recruitment was followed by a nightmare start to the season.
"It's a different group of players and different circumstances and we haven't made wholesale changes," said Hughes.
"I think the perception is we have brought in a lot of players. We haven't.

Stoke are currently 18th in the Premier League table
"The majority of the squad is exactly the same as last year when we got ninth place and a record points total.
"There have been changes, but most squads have changed to a certain extent from 12 months previously. That happens every year.
"It's completely different (to QPR), rest assured. Trust me on that one.
"We are enthused by what's ahead of us. We know we are a good side at this level, we know we can compete, so we are looking forward to the games to come."

 

The comparisons are interesting. He's possibly doing too much too fast. However, their squad is a lot better than ours was. The defence looks poor without Shawcross though.

They'll win today

 

He's got another 10 games before he equals our unenviable record. Unlikely to I suspect.

 

I feel that Mark Hughes doesn't have the right to ever talk about us. He should never mention the words "Queens Park Rangers" again. It feels insulting for him to even dare reflecting on his time here.

 

"It won't happen like QPR because I learned my lesson from that. It was my fault" - that's what he should say. Makes it sound like QPR was a team different from his role as manger and recruiter of players..... Take some responsibility!
