To numb the pain of another meek derby defeat. Our record away in front of an away turnout of 2000+ is atrocious
That's slightly pre empting the result though wats whatever the form. Why get pi$$ed at all before a game? Don't get it. Doubt he'll enjoy the game pi$$ed. Waste of money imo.
We're all different. I guess you could say why get pissed at any sort of event? At any sort of gig or festival I'd say it enhances the enjoyment and it's the same for football, up to a point. As long as you aren't completely out of it it's more fun. I've probably been drunk at football an absolute maximum of ten times and generally it makes for a more enjoyable game. I had a complimentary ticket from my old job for the Chelsea v Spurs League Cup final last season and that was the most drunk I've been for a good five years at least. Dozed off in the first half, threw up at half time, dozed off in the second half and went home after about 70 minutes. Top day
Erm is that the reason why it is now your old job? Bet the employer was really impressed.........or was it a last hurah
I think I'd either decided I was leaving or had handed my notice in at that point so took the opportunity to have a pre-match curry before the game with a couple of mates who support Chelsea (not allowed, I know) and a small dabble in slightly illegal substances mixed none too well with the alcohol. The funniest bit was that that office was full of Spurs fans (none of whom went to matches) and I was the one who got drawn out the hat for the Club Wembley ticket. Pictures of me dozing in my seat while Terry scored the first goal were quite rightly circulated around the office e-mail.
It's a shame Steve 'Blackie' Black isn't still on the team to bond and positivitize the lads for tonight. He seems to be doing a sterling job at Newcastle.
There's at least a couple of ways of looking at this. He could be absolutely ****e at his job, or like mother Teresa he goes to locations of greatest need and quietly unnoticed behind the scenes lifts the spirits of those bereft of all hope. Who knows how much worse things may be if he wasn't there at the right moment? On reflection I choose the first option
I suppose that's fair enough, and as you rightly say we are all different, but to me it's just a waste of an expensive ticket if you get THAT drunk that you don't know what's going on. I do however find it odd that the majority of people seem incapable of having a good time and enjoying themselves unless alcohol is involved. I will never fathom that out, but that's just me I guess!
I'm going out in Clapham tonight. If I wasn't severely inebriated I imagine it would be a horrific experience.
Austin Chery Fer Phillips Faulin Doughty Konky Angella Ned Perch Green This would do me! Come on u Rsss!!!!
Not wishing to be a smart ar$e but this is what I said BEFORE the game. How can manager not see it?-------------------------- Mackie in for Chery who I am rapidly getting bored of and think away at FFC is not his cup of tea, Whereas Mackie will relish it.
He did after 20 minutes or so! Then Mackie got injured 5 later, possibly due to not warming up properly.
