It is also understood that City intend to loan out the 25-year-old once he has completed all the formalities over his move to the Etihad Stadium. City's sister club, Melbourne City, are understood to have brought Brattan to the attention of the Premier League club. Brattan is expected to travel to Manchester to conclude a deal to join City and has already spoken of his excitement over the move. "I'll meet up with my agent when I get to England and he'll go over some things with me," Brattan told Brisbane's Courier-Mail. "City is a massive club and this will be a once in a lifetime chance." Brattan, who was born in Hull, joined Brisbane in 2008 and has gone on to make 91 league appearances, helping the club win three A-League titles. He was recently called up into the Australia squad first time in his career for the upcoming match with Jordan in October. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...signing-of-australian-midfielder-luke-brattan
He is pleased to be signing for a team that tbh he probably won't get a game for. I suppose if he gets loaned out he can impress others and hopefully get his move to a half decent team.
As others have said seems weird and he's got no chance of getting into Man City's team. Will they just loan him back to Melbourne City?? Anyway well done to the lad and I'm sure Dad Gary will be proud. He was a great player Gary and a real shame he didnt have a better career in the game. Certainly good enough. A good lad too.
Just raises exposure of him down under, and thus Man City. I can't see it being anything more than commercial. Unless he excels suddenly and gets promoted to the squad.
Most over here suspect it's just a roundabout way of getting him to Melbourne City on loan so that Melbourne don't have to pay him much so that they stay under the cap.
Anthony Gerrard has signed for Shrewsbury I see. Shocking, I thought he had a good looking career ahead of him.
