Do we know what the name for the show will be? Something like Big Ends, or maybe Gear Knobs?

Got my technophobic mother an iPad for her birthday. Less than a month later, she's now looking at getting herself an iPhone too.

"It's so much easier!", she proclaims. As if this isn't what I had been telling her for yonks. <laugh>

I believe you are correct with Gear Knobs sir........Clarksons legal team copyrighted the name 2 weeks before their new deal with Amazon was revealed, and I believe the new stig is to be called speedbird.

Jeez, there's nothing worse than the converted, is there.? In the past I've been through almost every member of my family, suggesting they perhaps ought to consider buying a computer or perhaps let me build one for them, to glazed/bored expressions. Finally they've graced me with an OK, and then days/weeks after I delivered the thing or accompanied them to buy one, I can't shut them up about how great it all is.

I've easily lost count of how many times I've replied, Yeah, I know, over the years. It's like I never advised them in the first place. :)

I just went into the living room to see my dad playing PGA tour on his iPad and my mum on the sofa opposite Facetiming her sister.

It's like I've been transported to a parallel universe.

Indeed there isn't. Plus I can understand someone simply not being interested. For example, I know a retired precision aircraft engineer who has never been near a domestic computer. He does things like buys specialist aircraft DVDs through catalogues or over the phone. He has no idea that these things are virtually or actually free via Youtube, or that you could buy at a far lower cost online. A brother asked me to have a word with him, and the basic reply I got was that he was 71 and what would he do with a computer at his age.?

Thing is, all he has to do is dip his toe in and find out. He wouldn't even take a spare one off me to try. Admittedly, a computer has limited appeal without the Net out there and he doesn't have it to try. We appreciate what he is missing. Perhaps it's as well he doesn't.

I mentioned this several days ago. The F1 comments obliterated it. Yes, it is disgusting. The woman is lucky to still have any sight. They know who did it and a manhunt for two men is on.

Very amusing moment at the Fable gig in London last night. Some utterly insane bloody great Irish soldier came in, proceeded to take off his shirt and started doing press-ups right in front of the stage. At the start of Fragile (which is a pretty intense song) he went right up and stood in front of Fable just glaring at her. She carried on singing the track, but completely squared up to him, staring him out whilst doing so, to the point he utterly shrunk away and finally just walked back. All six and a half stone of her.....

    Big tough man :)
