Do we keep Insua at least for another year.? I noted that he provided some very good drosses during our recent friendlies. He is only 22 and can improve. I do not know why Galatasary failed to sign him on permanent basis.Perhaps we need the cash to balance the book. Your comments:
i think the main point with insua was his reluctance to stay away from a healthy diet, and i heard in training he would be lazy as hell. maybe gala saw this and thought he wasnt worth the punt
Surely a viable option but at the same time if its to be believed if we are in the market for a LB, perhaps a swap/part exchange would be beneficial for the lads development.
I always had hopes for him, one of those that i wish would blossom, may be this year?
I really rate Robinson and would like Insua to move on. We then either play Aurellio WHEN fit and use Johnson as cover and Robinson in certain games.
I think Insua is ready to start for us again to be honest... he's got experience behind him now and he looked sharp so far in preseason.
I agree. He was very young last time around. Think he should have one more year. Back up if anything.
It's because of Aurelio that I think we should keep Insua. We've had Doc Brukner and his team for a season now, though last summer we had a lot of World Cup stragglers missing a good pre-season. I think the new regime has served us well, with injuries being limited, healing quicker and a serious attempt to sort Gerrard's groin out. So after a season of the new training regime the injury susceptiblilty of Agger and Aurelio is a concern. Agger is still young enough that pre-season and some good medical care can up his appearances but I can't see it for Aurelio at 32 this year. His free kicks are his biggest strength and we've got an abundance of set piece takers now. Insua did always seem to be carrying some of Dossena's belly for him but he seems to have shifted that up to his shoulders. That'll help his defending. I say keep Insua, release Aurelio.
