Are you kidding me? Would not back a Scottish National team in any sport; that includes 'Scotland's' progress in the Davis Cup!!!!!!

Steady on, Cyc, by some fluke they're still part of the UK, thanks to the over-aggression of the SNP hangers-on in the run-up to that referendum. SNP really did shoot themselves in the foot? But they'll get it in the end, probably best for all concerned. Can't have one nation in the union being totally pissed-off all the time? Murray and his brother are Scots, and it's all thanks to them, especially Andy, that GB has done so well in the current Davis Cup tournament.

Back to Rugby, I thought Scotland had improved a hell of a lot the last month or so?

Swanny my friend, my father was a Scot, and a proud one at that. He instilled in us the love of all things Scottish, and I cheer for them in every 6 Nations game, but I'd dearly love to see the Brave Blossoms kick on.

Yes, I know, Cyc, I am 25% Scottish. Maternal grandpa was an engineer who migrated (there's that bloody word again) to London. Married a pretty lass from Battersea and, in his spare time, managed a Victorian-style family of 12-children. I had so many aunts and uncles from both sides that I could not keep up with it when I was a kid, not forgetting cousins, seemed to be scores of them. The advent of radio and TV had to be a blessing in many ways?

Got Japan+15 and Aussies -15 on the h/cap at 7/2
Eddie Jones was particularly bullish by Japan's chances of taking the Scots all the way!

The midfield is literally all power, personally I'd of gone for Slade at 12 if Farrell was to play, Barrett offers very little in an attacking sense. And Slade would at least give us some sort of creativity in there without Ford.

Tricky one, but this time I'll go with the line. NZ to win. The Namibia team are hard working lads, not professional players.

    Some of the squad.

NAMIBIA'S AMATEURS READY TO TACKLE NEW ZEALAND
    Starting XV
Jaco Engels (prop) - coach and consultant at Windhoek school
Tinus du Plessis (flanker) - foreign exchange broker
Johan Tromp (full-back) salesman at an outdoor cycling shop
    Replacements
Louis van der Westhuizen - student
    Raoul Larson - student teacher
    Janco Venter - engineering student
Rohan Kitshoff - mechanical engineer at a brewery
    Eneill Buitendag - insurance broker
    Other amateurs in the squad
Johnny Redelinghuys - construction firm boss
Darryl de la Harpe - manager of his father's cylinder company
    AJ de Klerk - farmer
Danie Van Wyk - engineer at a diamond mining company
    Also:
PJ van Lill - a dentist who is currently playing professional rugby at Bayonne, France.

    STARTING TEAM.

    1. Jaco Engels
    2. Torsten Van Jaarsveld
    3. Johannes Coetzee
    4. PJ Van Lill
    5. Tjiuee Uanivi
    6. Jacques Burger (c)
    7. Tinus Du Plessis
    8. Leneve Damens
    9. Eugene Jantjies
    10. Theuns Kotze

    14. David Philander
    15. Johan Tromp

Australia -26 is my next bet, again Fiji will run out of steam in the second half after a 5 day turn-around

It does put things into perspective a little, though Uruguay where pretty much all amateurs and Wales got knowhere near the handicap mark against them.

There is a qualifying stage before the World Cup, so they can't be completely useless. 77 points just seems to big to me, even if it is New Zealand

I would have agreed but they were a bit ropey against Argentina. A second string side is going to want to go out and hammer the other team in the hope of getting considered for the bigger tests ahead. I wouldn't be altogther surprised to see three figures on the board.

I see your point, but then again you could switch that as a positive for Namibia, the fact they probably won't be facing New Zealand's first team:biggrin:

Really not sure about England's selection in the backs for Saturday. Not a fan of Farrell, seems very one dimensional and prone to losing his rag. Though Burgess has impressed the coach in training he didn't impress his club that much in the backs because they've decided his future lies with the grunters.
