Jurgen Klopp...

  1. Liverpool have approached Jurgen Klopp twice in the past

Liverpool did not approach Jurgen Klopp over the summer months, after opting to stick with Brendan Rodgers, but have contacted the former Borussia Dortmund coach on two previous occasions.

That’s according to German football journalist Raphael Honigstein, who tweeted the information to his 347,000 followers earlier today.

Klopp is currently taking time out of management following seven hectic years at Signal Iduna Park, but is expected to return to work potentially as early as January.

However, it was reported by the Daily Mail earlier this week that Klopp is waiting to discover if he has a chance of becoming the new manager of Bayern Munich before accepting a job in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola is under pressure to win the Champions League at the Allianz Arena this season - his third attempt since arriving at the club in the summer of 2013 - and may not have his contract, which expires at the end of the campaign, extended if he fails.

Can't see him going to Bayern... Dortmund fans would turn on him and he seemed to have a special relationship with them

  3. There have been bigger surprises.

Is the living legend that is Guardiola as risk of being sacked then? #sarcasm

We'll look a right bunch if he turns us down. It's downright stalking at this point.

That's if we go for him at all. With Gordon and Ayre at the club, I have no confidence.

Ayre is certainly the biggest parasite at the club. Sooner he's gone, the better.

I agree he seems very focused on himself and his lifestyle.

The only problem with Klopp is that bloody baseball cap. If he comes to Anfield, I hope he shows the club more respect than wearing a cap whilst managing the team.

Other than that I think he would be fantastic.
