I am loving rugby. They do this weird thing where, when a decision is wrong, the ref asks someone what the video says and fixes it. Shame for Fiji though as that was a great try.

Jeeze, the TMO stuff is all getting a bit too jobsworth for me. Let the game flow, mistakes and all.

I really don't want this to happen in football. It would cause far too many stoppages.

Agreed. This would drive me nuts in football.

it really doesn't need to. A few 30 second stoppages would be offset by the ending of players arguing with refs.

    You are wrong ref!

    Video says not.

    Oh. Soz.

You cannot have endless stoppages in play to look at everything that may have been a wrong call. If more technology is introduced in football it can only be the referee's call to use it and only when there is a natural stoppage in play. Unlike rugby the clock doesn't stop and football is a very fast paced game so there are less natural pauses.

Nothing wrong with League. In fact it is a faster game but it is important to respect both codes as both are immense!

I think you could find ways to make it work a lot more efficiently. If a video ref spots someone punch someone, why do we have to wait until the next game for punishment?

Never seen a game of rugby union. Am from a big rugby league town though, so can't really get away with not having seen any of that...! We're on a slump down the table at the minute, mind.

As for the technology debate, I'm not talking about what method is better but one thing that strikes me a lot in football is the players seem to have massive disrespect for the referee (whether or not a call made was wrong, they are always arguing with everything). You don't get as much of that nonsense in rugby, though I'm not saying it never happens. If video reviews or whatever were introduced, would it really take that much more time out of the game than the constant getting in the ref's face does? Can't argue as much with a video compared to somebody's sight.

Edit: Hilariously just put on our local game on the radio and the commentators are slating the referee and his "multiple poor decisions", haha. Talk about irony.

Good result. I think Aus and Wales will struggle to match it.

Don't let my wife know :)

Think they let you off the hook last night. Should have had you dead and buried but you defended superbly and then sucker punched them at the end. :)

Wife is a pie eater, you must be a woolly back?

Is it my imagination, or is Rugby Union getting slower? Last night's game seemed like one long stoppage, and what I saw of Tonga vs Georgia was worse. Maybe Ireland vs Canada might provide a bit more fluidity.
