Ba doesn't seem to bring much. Kashi gives you that dogged spirit, closing down and good for breaking up play, but Ba just seems to be there making up the numbers. Cousins definitely needs to move back in the middle, but I fear for whoever is sacrificed to the left next will be even worse.

Not to be pedantic, but Fox isn't a international yet. You have to make an appearance for that title.

He had visions of giving a speech on the promotion bus parade about how his 'meeting' Katrien was pivotal and was the catalyst for Roland to chuck a load of cash at us.

In Jackson's only game for us against Daggers I thought he looked fittest I'd seen him for ages. He's not going to have the energy levels of Cousins, but I think there's life in the old dog yet. If he'd been on the pitch last night he'd have had a word with Watt about his selfishness.

I assume Diarra was rested because Luzon feels he can't play every game this season owing to his age. His absence wasn't the problem last night as I thought that Sarr, whilst clearly not as good as him, was OK.

I wonder if the reason Luzon is sticking with Ba and Kashi in midfield is that both looked quite good in pre-season. It certainly is tough on Cousins. Given that JBG is left-footed might it work if he played on the left?

Was dreadful from start to finish last night
Cousins must play in the middle
Supply line must be quicker to JBG
Can't believe we don't have a left winger
    Watt had a stinker
Makienok's knock downs went to no-one or behind people. Let's not talk about his ability on the floor
The contrast between Fox & Wiggins very evident last night- Fox gets beat by any half decent winger and does not travel with the ball

On a side note, thought Hudders played well, closed all the gaps and defended very solid. Scannell MOM

the first goal was so poor to concede, Fox too slow to clear danger, Bunn was in acres (would Diarra have read it better??) & Pope chucked in his own net

Popes first blunder looks worse every time I see it. His palms appear to be open?

Losses haven't bothered me in the slightest since Duchatelet took over, i'm still fairly pleased with wins but its all a bit strange. I think we just missed a defensive leader last night, the presence of Diarra, Jackson or Henderson would have helped greatly in my opinion, especially against the playground bully Ishmael Miller who gave Bauer and Sarr the run around.
Going forward we obviously need an actual winger to give us some width when we can't break a team down, Bergdich improved us when he briefly played there. We will finish mid-table again, anywhere between 8th and 16th.

Good point re the spine. However well pope has played in recent games, he's still considered our number 2. Then add the removal of diarra and cousins (from CM), it is considerably weaker.

I was disappointed we didn't pick up Miller in powells final season with us. His goal ratio is a bit up and down, but he is so direct and powerful. Exactly what you want away from home, and sounds like he played the roll well against Sarr.

I thought at the time he's caught in 2 minds, either palm it out or catch it, and he does neither

Watching the highlights of the Rotherham game, when he made that terrific reflex save from the header, it seemed odd to me that none of his team-mates went to congratulate him.
