You're welcome to your 'honest' opinion. But calling our fans delusional twats is just going to end up with you getting abuse in return. Not very constructive eh?

The reason us Arsenal fans aren't swayed by the media as easily as you Mancs and Scousers is because every year we are told our best players want out, we're gonna finish 5th, Wenger is gonna get sacked, we need older players etc etc. And every year none of the above happens!
Why should we believe these rags when they are hardly ever right? You're so naive to think that because 3 or 4 papers are reporting it, it's gospel truth! They just follow one another. Most stories these days are taken from goddamn Twitter.

The trusting ignorance of the paper-buying public never ceases to amaze me. Anything which could be construed as negative about a club that they don't like, or see as a rival is automatically believed.

But by the same token and with supreme lack of logic, if something negative is written about their own club, that can't be true, can it?

Football supporters must be among the stupidest people on the planet, willingly parting with their cash or their time only to have their little heads filled with whatever hocus-pocus some grubby online journo has dreamed up within the last 24 hours.

The next thing of course is to get on a blog or posting site so they can flaunt their 'insider knowledge' at fans of said team. Queue article, usually badly written and couched in so many generalities that it's almost meaningless.

What it amounts to is children in a playground, all pointing fingers at each other - "My dad, etc"

Now I have no problem pointing fingers at opposing fans - that's part of the fun. But make it about something concrete, not some unshaven scribbler's wet dream - it's pathetic.

So you don't believe that Fabregas wants to leave?

Ofcourse I believe that Fabregas wants to leave... at some point in his career! All the papers have are old quotes from him saying that Barca are his boyhood club. Ofcourse you're gonna want to someday play in the city that you grew up in, in the stadium you spent most of your childhood in. Why are you completely ignoring him saying 'I am happy at Arsenal' but believing some hack journalist who has pieced together Xavi's comments and what EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOWS.
As for Nasri, unless he says he hates it at Arsenal and wants to win trophies elsewhere, I am not going to believe anything. His situation is about money and Wenger's ambitions.

When did Fabregas last come out to stop all of the rumours and say he is staying at Arsenal? This is a lot like the Ronaldo situation at United. They both love the club and have to much respect for the club to say they want to leave but you know that they are desperate to go. In the past few months Pique, Valdes, Puyol, Xavi, Alves and Iniesta have all come out and said they know Fabregas wants to come to Barcelona etc. He's been at Arsenal for about 7 years is it? And has been a great servant. I think after 6 years of not winning anything he should be given the chance to better his career.

Nasri hasn't come out to quash the rumours either, he still hasn't signed a new contract with just one year left on it so what does that tell you? To an Arsenal fan it means he wants to stay but he just wants more money. To everybody else he wants to leave.

Why do you think Adebayor, Toure and Clichy have all left for City?

Money or because they have ambition?

I have no qualms with Toure's transfer. He was a fan's favourite and it was rumoured that he and Gallas didn't see eye-to-eye, so he left for another challenge. As for Adebayor and Clichy, it's almost certainly money. Both of them think that they are far better then they are actually are. Ask most Arsenal fans and they'll say it was the right time to ship off Gael. I would cringe whenever he tried to play a pass out of defence or tried to do a Zidane-esque turn on the edge of our area. He's a liability and I'm not sad to see him go. In interviews, he is saying he went to City because he is ambitious but ofcourse he is going to say that. Nobody is going to turn around and say they went for the money. As for Adebayor, he's a self-absorbed fool. He wants to be at a club where he is going to be worshipped and the highest paid. He thought he found that at City but when his goals dried up, he was quickly loaned out and now he is refusing to even train. His attitude stinks and it's for the best that he left.

And why are we believing what Alves, Iniesta and co are saying? They are Barca players, they have ulterior motives! Cesc is a quality player and they know he'll join their team some time soon, so they are trying all they can to unsettle him and turn his head. Really, what insight would Dani Alves have? He's a Brazillian who wasn't even at Barca when Cesc was. He's just another Barca player joining the bandwagon. If it was known that, for example, Rooney wanted to join Barca, then they'd be doing the exact same thing.

In short, I'm not saying Fabregas won't leave. There's a high chance he will. But everybody takes the news reports at face value and for some ridiculous reason we're all supposed to believe that these Barca players are in constant communication with Fabregas, desperately trying to save him from his nightmareish time in a cold and wet London.

Toure, Ade and Clichy all left for City at a time that very much suited Arsenal and a big wad of cash that very much suited Arsenal! It has been done on our terms.

Also to read Clichy's comments really makes me laugh as it was his crucial mistakes that cost us a title and CL chance over the last few seasons, yet he has the front to complain about our usual end of season collapse, he is more culpable than anyone else!

    No, it hasn't happened.

But even the most ardent Gooner must surely accept that it is getting nearer

No they didn't and neither did I, read through the thread again. You should be asking yourself the question 'How did you miss this before posting?'

I called you a wum precisely because you refered to our fans as delusional twats. I don't take that to be particularly constructive debate, in fact I would consider it to be an attempt at a wind up, so I'd suggest that you knock it off <ok>

Yes they did I had a negative rep and Steeeve calling me a bellend, I had wilsherethemaster calling me a gormless manc and you dismissing my post all because none of you liked it. It was an opinion, people have opinions and you don't need to get offensive when you disagree with it. So again you should ask yourself 'How did you miss this before posting'

So until I was called for having an opinion you may not like I come on here to offer constructive debate not to be abused because you are upset. So tell yourself and your chums to knock it off first <ok>

in all seriousness if fabregas wants to go then he will go. you see it all the time with these rich boys that their contracts are not worth the paper they are written on.....if he cant give 100% to arsenal then get rid....

He does give 100% to Arsenal though. He is an Arsenal player, under contract to Arsenal, 'Happy at Arsenal' and will only leave Arsenal, if and when Arsenal decide <ok>

Fabregas, for ability, age, marketability etc. is worth a fortune. If Barca have indeed kept the no.4 shirt for him, you can bet they'll recoup a few million in shirt sales as soon as he signs.
