i agree..but it is far more chatty simply because we don't have to wait 3 minutes between posts..it's bound to bring more general conversation that way. Personally i like it, i have got to know people far better on this site than the other one, but i guess that's not what everyone wants out of the site...

As has already been said, there's not much proper football happening at the min. This board is very active with lots of threads, but there's a lot of chat that could be putting people off as it can hide the footie talk. When the football starts again properly, I think it would be wise to keep the chit-chat within the nest. I personally prefer it when a new thread is started about news items, particularly new signings, as it can be a little time consuming sifting through the club short news as its so big! Basically, keep the threads relevant to the title and chat in the nest, although there'll be less time to chat when there's football to talk about!!

The age range isn't a problem, i don't think, as it appears to be very varied - students to the more mature (trying not to offend anyone!). The only issue I can see with the chatty nature of this board is the danger people might perceive the regular posters to be a bit "cliquey". Having said that, I think it reflects the family club that is Watford as it's a very friendly place!

    Morning..

    Interesting discussion...

I have been much less active on this site.... partly due to work.. but then as a result of less time I find it difficult to take part in what seem to be a number of ongoing chats between people on several threads.. so I find myself
making very brief comments or nothing at all.

I also find the format makes it hard to quickly follow a discussion which may go back over several pages.. so the clunkiness works against me easily following and going back through what may on the surface appear to be a personal conversation between 2,3 or 4 people.

I guess as the football starts there will be more footy discussion..

Morning All, rather grey and cloudy here at the moment:( but no French lesson this week. ;)

Looks like another bricolage hunt again today. As we progress with our renovations we keep finding small differences between materials used many years ago and what is available today. Sometimes you can replace a whole piece , but sometimes there is no option but to join on to the existing.

That should be fun, have you ordered everything as we are in the holiday season and you might be needed in September to take delivery if you try to get them next week?

    Morning all
Anyone else having trouble getting pages from this forum? This is the 4th morning running I've found it slow to impossible. Not sure whether it's my laptop, the not606 servers or the local broadband. We are pretty rural here, and on the end of a long line from the exchange- but I'm not having problems with any other sites.
May be a Firefox thing - I've just moved to IE to try to post this. Grrrr!!!

Morning GG, The site seems ok here, and you cannot get more rural than this.

    Morning all!

GG it is a FireFox thing, there was another poster having the same problems.

Try Google Chrome, the layout is much nicer and there aren't any compatibility problems <ok>

Thanks Toby. I think you may be right. Have reinstalled Chrome and am giving it try. I've used it in the past to check out how the websites I look after appear and function in it. However I've used FF for so long I'm welded to it!

i went to Chrome for a while but it lacked functions that FF has...so i've gone back. If you just do basic browsing though, Chrome is better than FF imho.
