Rooney used Chelsea to get a new contract in 2013, Ramos used us to get a new contract and now De Gea used Real Madrid to get a new contract now.
Definitely Madrid's making. DG was keen to move. Madrid was hesitant as Navas was popular and they thought they could get him for free next summer. They thought why lose Navas and pay £18m in the process? I could understand their hesitation and their greed. But if they had kept their promise to DG then we would have lost him. ****ing hell, even a success is not of our making..
Unless.... de gea was playing Madrid all along and actually has a tattoo of the Atletico badge covering his back... Sly bastard
David De Gea's release clause is £50m... rising to £300m if he wins the Ballon D'or... or the Eurovision Song Contest.... or a contract with Vidal Sassoon. Why hasn't someone from the chav board been on to post a whole new thread about this????
On another note, De Gea's contract is for 4 years with 1 year option to extend at the end. Seems strange to have that in there if there's any plans by either party to sell next year...
There are a lot of football geniuses and ITKs on rival boards who Knew DdG was going for free next year and we had been "mugged" by Madrid, they have gone very quiet on this
Very true but seeing their infatuation with the cost of all our signings, I thought they'd apply the same consistency when looking at the world's most expensive goalkeeper now
All these pricks are now choking on their cornflakes United have for once snatched victory from the jaws of defeat here. Just cannot believe it. We would have lost a very good GK for very little money for another who was unkeen and also not used to the premiership. Now we have our best player for the last 2 years. And if Madrid comes for him and he wants to go, United will be handsomely compensated. United's no signature no play position has been key.
If we did tell De Gea that he wouldn't play if he didn't sign, then it's no suprise that he signed, with a major international tournament next summer.
Absolutely. For him, it was a no brainer. He gets the extra £7m on signature and he gets the guaranteed wages for next few years even if he goes to Madrid. Not signing would have left him at the mercy of ****s he no longer trusted to give him whatever they wanted
This is without a doubt a great win for all parties except Madrid. De Gea would have been taking a huge gamble if he counted on going to Madrid next year for free. Navas is looking good for them right now and they may not want to change that come next year. Either way, the whole circus around Madrid's unchecked ego got broken badly with this. They had all the time in the world yet left it chance thinking United would blink. W***ers!
