I completely disagree but fair enough. I think there's very little in it between Livermore and Marney, both battlers and runners who are poor in possession and limited in passing the ball.

Far more. I's bet we'd have had a few more points on the board had Meyler & Quinn played as many games at Hudd & Livermore last season.

Especially if you have them both at the same time. You'd be "roight off ya nat san" to quote something Jimmy Bollard probably said.

Think it was down to **** tactics and ambition rather than the players.

Well, it's all subjective, and your bet is safe because nobody can ever know what might have been. However, I'm in the same camp as Andyp95, I always thought Marney struggled with the physicality of the top flight (including the Championship). My impression is that both Meyler and Livermore are more robust, and both more skilful, particularly Livermore. Someone must have seen something for him to be considered on the fringe of England honours.

I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree.

I suspect it's because that's what people normally turn to when they're depressed, whereas Coke is something you normally turn to if you want to go out and have a good time.

There are some on here that have experienced sudden tragedy, and I expect all dealt with it in different ways.

I just hope nobody else needs to find out how they themselves would react.

We should be offeriing sympathy for his loss.

I agree with a lot of that. But for me he should be banned for a year.

There's a lot of arguments for both sides, like a lot of subjects, however I'd just like to say hopefully he can get his life back into some sort of positive light & move on & upwards. Good luck Jake!

He'll be walking a thin line however & had better not fall off it again or his life will be over!

To make it clear, I don't really rate Marney, I think they're both distinctly average, and even at his best Livermore wasn't worth anything like £8 million, especially when there were better players available on a free.

Carlton Palmer won 18 caps and Seth Johnson has as many as Jake so I don't think international honours are the best indication. Even if they were, Marney was capped at U-21 level, so someone obviously saw something in him too.

Until you have been in a position of great loss you wouldn't know what you would turn to. I lost a thirteen year old lad and didn't know which way to turn and would have punched anyone who got in my way but I was off work for around six weeks so no-one did. In those days cocaine was something Dentists gave you for extractions. I am fully on his side!

I'm sorry for your loss Charles, but you did the right thing or was made to do the right thing at the time of great loss. Jake didnt.

I doubt it will be as clear cut as some of you are assuming the resolution to be.

The FA ruling was over when he would be allowed to participate in the sport again.

Hull City's decision to suspend him was on the basis that he is in breach of his contract, and I assume has not been paid any wages since the suspension was served.

The FA seem to have accepted the incident as a one-off given the close proximity of the test results to the inquiry into his child.

As Livermore had admitted to be in breach of his contract, the club may take a very different stance. Not forgetting our owners are muslim and make view the breach of using an illegal drug in far more serious terms. Hull could take legal action over his breach of contract, mitigating circumstances or not.

Couple of lines of well cut Charlie at the weekend is well accepted in increasing circles of life and far more rife than many admit. Much preferred now by those who want to be out of it in times of need without the sluggish washed out effects heavy binge drinking usually brings. Livermore, knowing full well whats expected of him plying his obscenely overpaid trade, took a risk and got caught. Let those who make the rules decide his fate, and any **** who pretends to be holier than thow and clean as a whistle are lying c unts and can go get ****ed.
