..a bit harsh on Bosnia? They did start terribly in this qualification campaign but the core of a side that was unfairly robbed by a kiwi referee of a knockout stage place in last year's world cup, remains. If we lose in Zenica and qualify after beating Andorra, our place in France will still be well deserved.
Don't agree at all. Their game plan was to park the bus and hit us late in the game. That's something Wales has done previously and it's a valid tactic. Didn't work out for them but they stifled us so that part of their game plan worked. Not a poor show, a perfectly proper tactic. Had they been more open we'd have won easily.
Was there yesterday and I have to say, I didn't watch a game of football but 11 men kicking a ball against a wall. Very disappointed we created so little yesterday especially as the prize for victory was so huge for us, I'd have loved to have been there for that. Israel parked the bus and took EVERY opportunity to waste time. Even their physios strolled on and off the pitch and their keeper took forever to release the ball in his possession. They stifled everything we did and stopped everything we tried so credit to them but still, we should have done better. B'n'H next up and I think we should go all out for the victory and qualify there. We have nothing to lose in this game as a loss has no baring what-so-ever on our chances of qualification, but a win means we not only qualify but it gives us a shot at qualifying top of the group.
Unfortunately Israel's defensive tactic highlighted our lack of attacking flair. We have some quality obviously in attack but not enough creativity IMO to worry any of the big boys or to break down a very well organised parked bus. Yes, we should have had a penalty and that would have been enough to win though. The Cyprus trip must have taken its toll as well and probably why we ran out of steam and lacked urgency second half. We could have hounded them in possesion, in numbers, a lot more second half.
We were not at our best yesterday, and with Israel parking the bus, we struggled in the final third, what I noticed was we had no one who could hold up the ball well like Gomis or Bony, surely Bale could do more of that type of play? He'big enough and to me he played far too deep when we were attacking, being found on the half way line on numerous occasions. Coleman will no doubt look at our final third approach which looked well out of idea's yesterday, which wasn't helped by a poor Ramsey and no Joe Allen. But still I cannot complain too much as we were well organised and solid defensively as a team, full credit to Israel for coming for the 1 point......
I was very disappointing with Ramsey yesterday, Bale too. As Corporal Jones said 'they don't like it up em' and against Cyprus and Israel although Bale kept trying, Ramsey faded out in both games after a couple of tackles. Yesterday we needed Ramseys creativity but it never came. I thought our boy Jazz was excellent again, hope it works out at Fulham and he gets back in the prem soon.
Jazz had a great game and he looks more relaxed and confident playing for Wales than he ever did playing for Swansea.
Shame, but with Andorra at home for the last game I can't see us failing to qualify, to do it top of the group would be amazing.
