Long trip north for Brown's boys. Colchester United's first team might have the weekend off, but there's a long trip north for the U18s on Saturday. Wayne Brown returns to one of his former sides, as he takes his youth team to face Hull City. The U's U18s have seen their results pick up as the season has gone on and have only lost one of their four games so far. The Tigers youngsters, meanwhile, have won two and lost three of their five games to date and both teams currently sit in a mid-table position in their respective divisions. If you're a U's fan living near to Hull, the game kicks off at 11am and is played at Bishop Burton College. U's: Robinson, Mulryne, Stephens, Tennent, Debrick, Wilson, Pollard, Wright, Issa, Downey, Syrett, Cosgrave, Clampin, McKeown, Partridge http://www.cu-fc.com/news/article/colchester-united-u18s-hull-city-2668947.aspx#TcDcwQAdrXHzkeGS.99 I didn't know Wayne Brown was youth coach at Colchester.
Have to admit, I’m surprised they appointed him given his public support of the BNP. Unsurprisingly, his support of the BNP came out when he played for Leicester.
Think I'll go along to this. I'll take me Refugees Welcome banner along. I'm sure Wayne will hold the other end with me.
The less said the better. Poor game and poor performance from the lads. It was ****ing freezing anarl. Strong wind which didnt help, we had it first half and hit it too long. Second half we did nowt until the last 5 minutes. They scored a really well worked goal in the second half by their 10, he looks a good player. We should have ad a definite pen in the last 5, had a header right at the end but apart from that didnt trouble their GK. Our GK needs to calm down, screaming like a maniac in the first half. Blonde lady linesman had big thighs. Got rum in my cuppa tea i'm that ****ing cold. 0-1
I went also, your summary just about summed it up. Was bloody cold, it felt worse as I went on my bike arrived sweating and soon cooled down to a shiver.
Do you know i had a weird feeling you would go John. I was looking out for someone on a bike. Just to add did you see the lads warming up for City?? One of them looked about 12. That pleased me really as it shows they arent going for just big bruisers. I'll be interested to see him get a game.
I was the one in the cycling shorts, though I took my jeans with me just in case and put them on at half time because it was bloody Baltic. I stood level with the penalty area City were defending in the first half. Yes I did see him, because I was thinking he was the similar size at my grandson who's 9.
I arrive about 10 minutes in, I asked the guy next to me who was talking to a women in a City track suit and with a young boy in an amber shirt what the score was. I put by bike against the floodlight post just behind me.
Ah I remember now i think. I was a few people along I heard someone ask the score, I got there just before you. I was next to a woman with two lads one about 17 and one 12 he had a Scunny shirt on for some bizarre reason.
I remember seeing those 2 boys, well we must have been starting quite near each other, pity we didn't meet.
Yep. I had a black City coat on and black jeans. Next time i will have apink carnation in my button hole and I'll be carrying a copy of the Times. Now we'll have to work on a password!!
