He's a decent defender, it's just a shame he couldn't seem to keep fit when he was with us. Not a bad signing though, and he certainly wasn't "****".
Likely to get 15-20 games out of him a season, very injury prone (mostly psychological) can be good when against Premier league opposition, gash in the championship because he can't be arsed. A bit of a fairy!
good if he's fit, prone to making blunders, as any defender at this level is, if you can get him on a reasonable contract and keep him fit then a very good buy
I think you'll have a hard job finding any City fan who would like him back playing for us, which pretty much says it all.
was really good at times then awful at others, but he was more often than not injured, he makes himself injured.
Always injured, can be very good but can also be utter gash (most the time). He made some awful howlers while playing for us but guess we never saw him fully match fit as I don't think he ever managed more than 3 games in a row for us before injuring himself somehow. Even a 90 year old could manage more time on the pitch without getting injured in a season.
there is something very appropriate in us being asked this question by what appears to be a hospital.
You'll be better looking elsewhere mate, too injury prone and age isn't on his side. Looked alright in our first PL season when fit but seemed to detrioriate in ability after that last injury. He was hopeless for us in the Championship, probably because his mind was elsewhere so the Palace fans may be able to give you an insight from when he was on loan there last year. I wuldn't recommend him though, especially if you're looking for something long term.
He's absolute ****e mate. I've never hated watching a player as much as Gardner. People get confused and think his injuries are a weakness but actually he's better offf being out injured.
If I could think of 3 words to describe him they would be: Shocking Shocking And Shocking. Yes he really is that bad.
Don't give me the "He played for England he must be good" crap. John Fashnu played for England and he's more well known for the saying "Awooga!" Gardner's crap. Deal with it.
