We have had a thread for the last few fifa games so I thought anyone like minded might want to discuss it. For starters this is a leaked picture of Sadio Mane in fifa 16 (credit @saints1st on twitter). please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Personally can't wait for this installment. Looks visually very impressive. I just hope they have more southampton player faces (pelle, tadic, forster etc) and hope they change the benches around in SMS (ie correct team on correct bench . Thoughts people?
Last one i played was 14 so I'm not sure about the latest installments but the issue for me was never the graphics or that the ball didn't skid quite as realistically as possible in certain weather conditions. I had most of my problems with dumb AI, a small number of audio commentary tracks getting triggered over and over again and a dull, ultra repetitive career mode which lacked what you would think would be easy additions to improve replay-ablity and customization. I think the lack of competition (PES's lack of licence agreements means it has a huge handicap right out of the gate) has made EA rather lazy and secure in the knowledge that whatever they peddle will be bought.
Haing watched that guys other videos, it seems every player will have a game face. Even Hesketh and Gallagher have one.
Managered to play a beta. They have sorted out the keepers which is the best thing. Oh and tournies instead of friendlys at the start of the season were you can earn cash. The coaching in career mode was pretty op. It basically made all young players amazing in a year. Hopefully that is turned down a little. But it is a good addition. The game is far far better then 15 with little improvements to all. But the be a pro is still ****.
I have this year's, graphics have been excellent for a while but the same issues every year crop up: - Chip through ball - Easiest way to get through a defence - same problem for years. - Pace still dominates the game. - You can now hold pass as long as you want and it automatically goes to your player - easiest when in defence and passes go straight up to strikers, no chance of intercepting, player passing it doesn't have to be facing anywhere near their teammate it auto goes straight to their feet.. - Near post goals way overpowered. - Also why is it so easy to run forward straight from kick off and score? Career mode - unbelievably boring Ultimate team - Where EA makes the most changes - Matchmaking is broken - I have a 75 rated team and constantly come up against 85+ rated teams no matter what division I'm in. EA will focus on players faces again, corner flags, throw ins etc. Makes you wonder who from EA actually plays the game regularly to see how much better it could be.
I also haven't played since FIFA 14 but the one thing that annoyed me was the loan system. I've always played FIFA the way Saints try to do things (even before they started doing it, copy cats). I bring in young players or bring them through the academy when that's available, then develop them, let them play for a few years at their peak, then sell them for a tidy profit when they hit about 27-28yo. If they aren't good enough to be in my first team, or more specifically if they will complicate the endless team changes you have to make to keep all your players moral up, then I put them out on loan. What annoys me is you can't keep track of how much they are being played on their loan, and you can't keep very close tabs on their improvement. I don't want to waste a year of development because the loaning team doesn't play my player or the team isn't right for his level of development. I would happily pay the early recall price and loan him out again in Jan or perhaps keep him in my team if i think that would be best.
Also not sure if they have brought stadium expansion back now, but i thought that was a good addition, not sure why they removed it. But another thing that annoyed me was as you improved your team and expanded the stadium the commentary and crowd noise didn't reflect this. When I'm winning the Prem and Champions League every year they shouldn't still be talking about back to back promotions 10 odd years ago, and it should stop being a shock when i win. Also the crowd should be a load as Read Madrid and Man United if I have expanded the stadium to there levels and have a sell out.
I love FIFA games, most of the issues people have seem to fly past me and I don't see how career mode can be made that more interesting to be honest. However, one thing I loved in FIFA 09 that they got rid of was the level of customisation. You could upgrade every player the exact way you wanted it, as well as your stadiums and staff. Why they got rid of all that I have no idea so I guess on that side of the career I guess it is poor. It's very frustrating if you spend the time to get Accrington to the premier league and you're still playing in a 3,000 person capacity stadium. And the transfer budget resets every season? WTF I finish a season with 40 Mil and Start the next with 13. But still I've heard good things from people that played the beta. The dribbling in particular.
I'm looking forward to playing it this year, but my girlfriend will get mad at me and no doubt give me earache. I told her I quit video games . In reality I was just bored of fifa 15 and I was only 'quitting' until fifa 16 came out.
Comes down to personal preference though surely? I've owned the last three iterations of both game series and I find that PES (despite recent improvements) is still horrifically clunky. I prefer the arcade-like feel to FIFA (especially with the game speed set to high) but I understand that it's each to their own.
I wish they would either do something with the manager customisation or take it out. It gives you options for skim colour body type etc and then just completely randomises it. Career needs to be expanded as well.
Of course. I personally don't feel there's a huge amount to set them apart in terms of game play; I think Fifa has been getting better and PES has actually been declining recently. The main thing I prefer over PES is its offline and single player modes. If I'm round a mates house we still play FIFA, same if I want to play online. For me though, nothing comes close to Pro Evo's Master League, which is fully customisable so I can play exactly how I want with what ever team I want, and don't have to buy a new version every year. Also, it's on DS so I can play it on the toilet.
